I needed a plastic gear for my new to me Enco 9x20. This worked great! Thanks.

3D printer, eh? What a useful tool! I hear that you can use them to make molds for urethane suspension bushings...among other things.
I, also, like those soft jaws!

That lathe was also sold in the UK and that gear wheel on the lathe's here is the standard cast Iron type spur gear with teeth Module 1 you can purchase it from China via e bay.

True, The plastic gear is a fail safe. In case of an operator malfunction, jam/over travel. The cheap gear will fail saving more expensive parts. I wanted to keep that option 😁.
At 16:30 I mention the metal gear. At 17:00 I briefly say what possibly broke the plastic gear. The small piece broken off the selector is in with the extra parts. But I haven't repaired it yet, I will someday🤔........

Just rip out all those gears and toss them. Replace with a Clough42 Electronic Leadscrew and be happy!

I think my Grizzly G4000 is the same unit. What gears get you the slowest feed rate? I think mine could be slower for a better finish, but I don't have the gears unless I print them. thx

Not sure what is running on it. Haven't messed with switching. Also I don't have a full set of gears.

@@TSRGarage sorry for the late reply, thanks anyway.
My G4000 is essentially the same lathe. At nearly .005 in/rev, it’s hard to get a good finish with the power feed. I’m finally going to print some gears today. 👍
