They sound like everything I hate about plugged in acoustics (plastic sound, bland, no flavour or dynamics) wrapped up in a stupid mock electric guitar body. I think it's a toy for stupid people not a real guitar. Honestly you could probably buy the cheapest acoustic guitar you can find an the cheapest electric and they would both sound better then these things.

Much prefer the tele version. This is a musicians guitar, perfect for someone who plugs in at gigs and especially if they use a looper.
Was watching a guy over the weekend, brilliant player, better singer but let down by an awful plugged in sound. Doing a 3 hour cover set in a big pub venue across decades and genres. His guitar could not keep up- all one sound and all bad. One of these would have been perfect. Wouldn’t sound as good as a D28, and a Maton AP5 Pro and a tele brought out by a roadie but most of us will never have that luxury.

Bear in mind that what you’re hearing is the direct input. Virtually all guitars, both electric and (especially) acoustic, sound pretty bad this way. There are also reasons players are attracted to these guitars apart from the sound, specifically getting an acoustic sound from a guitar that feels more like an electric and simply not having to change guitars while gigging. I’d reserve judgement until you play and hear one plugged into a proper acoustic amp.

Everyone hates on these guitars .. sure they are expensive , and a lot of people are saying "I would'nt pay 200$ for one of these bla bla bla" first off the labour alone involved in building one of these is far greater than 200$ (you cant even get a good squier for $200)
Can fender improve on these guitars price wise? Yes Im sure if they offered them at say American performer price range they would sell more. However that being said if they are selling out at $2399.00 CAD why would they? Fender has also released a Hard (American Pro Style) Case for them! Maybe if they switched that out with the gig bag and kept the price the same it would be a bit more enticing for buyers? I know I sure would have appreciated the hard case over the gig bag.

terrydactyl spontaneous Guess it’s similar to relic guitars reportedly being the best seller’s (hence vendors having so many in the shops/videos) but the relic haters love to give their totally boring opinion that they don’t like a relic. At some point hopefully the people feeling the need to advise strangers they don’t like a colour or finish will put their energy into interesting comments that fellow enthusiasts find worthy of discussion. The silliest thing about all this kind of discussion is it’s just personal opinion, and one persons muse is totally insignificant to someone else. That’s life. These guitars are not my thing, but there are clearly providing joy and inspiration to others. Good for them! These days there’s something for everyone and that is awesome!

When and if they ever make them in China or Indonesia. Don't think they could sell enough of them to even make a run of them over there in the Far East.

The acoustasonic is a dreadful sounding guitar and for $3k it is a crazy expensive dreadful sounding guitar, just say it, someone, please. No one thing has made me lose respect for a bunch of people trying to earn respect online for the quality of their ears... careful what you take money to promote, your reputation may hinge on it. There are entire channels I no longer watch because, well, if you think that is good your opinions are shit to me. Sort of like taking cooking advice from someone insisting KD is the pinnacle of food.

Have you guys ever set up the actions of these guitars before you performed? You played as if the string actions are very low. however, I found all these Fenders' actions are fairly high in the music stores. Why is that?

So I’m using an acoustisonic Tele that I’m borrowing from a friend for a gig tonight. It sounds really good through my acoustic amp at home in all positions of the guitar. Will it sound just as good (more or less) through the PA at the gig tonight? I’m sure it will on the acoustic setting (I usually just run my acoustic guitar through the PA at gigs) but I’m not sure about the electric side, especially when I do overdriven solos. Can anyone help?

But interested to see if they do modeled sounds in the future which sound like acoustics being recorded via a quality external mic, rather than having them all sound like they are coming through the amp. That would add an extra sound quality especially if you were doing picked acoustic solos in quieter pieces (remove a bit of the twang).

lets be honest , the electric sound is not as convincing and its too dark. Why is everyone raving about this ?? I think the design is nice to have at someone's big studio or home and its a fun guitar, but there is something choking about the sound, could be the pick up placement? I'm trying to like this guitar, please help lol.

I am not sure if the different sounds posibilities is a pro or a con in this case. I remember when I tried the Tele version sounded processed, like there was a chip inside doing the different sounds. To many combinations hard to remember that have to be written to explain. The other thing is the price. Same budget you can get an american Tele and a Gibson g45 with a fishman transducer.

unless they're shaking it into a mic, I'm not sure what they're trying to even achieve, the sounds coming from the amp not the guitar, they should be shaking the amp.
