The sound of that piano is killer... but I'm sure it has a lot to do with the person playing it. Hahahah! I love the way you arrange these pieces. Do you play this by ear or do you write sheet music? (If so how can I get it?) You're an amazing pianist, an aspiration to me and I'm sure many others :)
I usually do some combination of both. I come up with ideas and either write or record them so I don't forget. Then I piece the arrangement together, write a "cheat sheet" with scribbles of form and concepts for intros/outtros/transitions/beginnings of each phrase. Then I "learn" the arrangement and memorize it for the recording/video. I can't sell sheet music that isn't original music or public domain, so all the pop covers are illegal as sheet music.
I've already got the piano, now I just need a Nathan Alef to come play piano as my personal slave/pianist. Just not very easy to get one, I'm thinking abduction or cloning or.... ;-)

Molly Larkins Do it! Music is the most fulfilling pastime I know. And thank you :)
I create all the arrangements I perform, mostly by ear, mostly without writing things down. I'll write snippets of specific ideas for transitions and new phrase concepts, but just for my own memory. I never write out a full arrangement, as the small details are improvised anyway.
Music is definitely the way forward.... If I'm in a bad mood or anything I just go and sit down at the piano and play something and experimient either with new ideas or advancing on already known pieces. I'm not brilliant but we all have to start somewhere :)

I think when playing any instrument it helps to have a good ear to for the music as it can help enhance the way it's played and interpreted and made it to be played better.

aaron salinas Sheets are a tricky issue, I'd love to put them out but it's almost impossible to release that stuff legally, so I'm just not going to deal with that for a while.
