Maybe its because I grew up playing Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the SNES, but I like the quick and (arguably) unbalanced gameplay of USF2. It's like one false move and its game over in 20 seconds, lol. I had to learn the hard way as a kid when I was getting my ass handed to me by my big bros when playing SF2 Turbo!

Are the "dark" characters legitimately broken to the point you would think they need to be banned? I'm planning on bringing this to my locals to do fun side brackets but I really don't want it to devolve into Akuma vs Evil Ryu.
TheWoebegoneJackal My experience tells me that Balrog and Guile are great against Evil Ryu and Violent Ken. (Highest rank I had was #16 in NA if that counts)

I may get hated for saying this, but one thing that is so captivating to me (no pun intended) about SF 5 is the resemblance to the SF2 series in regards to how quick and seriously you can damage your opponent if you connect with consistent combos and specials. I can still get that fast-pace feel from SF 5 that I would get from SF2, only not as intense.
I agree, thats the first thing I said when I played SFV. compared to SFIV and other SF games where theres so much scaling and a lot less damage lol. I still love 3rd strike the most tho than SFV

As do I! I think, as a whole, capcom has got the damage output nice in SFV. There are some characters that I think still need toning down but overall it's good.
Capcom not had idea when made SF2. Vanilla SF2 Damage and stun meter just straight broken.

Its weird how insanely broken Street Fighter 2 was, yet it made up for it in faster gameplay. Im not sure if the HD remix on ps3 made combos easier and this game made it way easier

I almost want to buy a switch just for this game, so sick!... If it was on PC would have grabbed it day one.
This is a game that calls for viable combo-breakers, and giving each character a viable way to counter projectiles and uppercuts. Perhaps each character (except Ken/Ryu/Akuma and their endless clones and variants) should get a move that allows them to reduce or outright nullify damage.
The quick way they're saying the name for the Hurricane Kick move is "Tats-Mak Sempu Kyak" the quick contraction way for saying Tatsumaki Sempu Kyaku. At least that's what I think

Fuckin' loved how you went all in on that first Sagat. I always love to see a nice comeback via that sudden round-ending throw outta nowhere. I think you actually intimidated him out of pressuring you with Tiger Shots, which led to him whiffing that super that would have otherwise saved him.
Love how you punished that Vegeta Akuma, too. Despite your "fair and balanced" joke, I find the high stakes punishment aspects like that to be absolutely thrilling, at least as a spectator. At the same time, it looks like I actually wanna pick this one up and play it, too. Because it's so quick and intense, even the failures would be satisfying for me, from a "learn a lesson" perspective.
I honestly like the intensity of this one. It definitely shouldn't be the new standard for the classic style games, but it's got its own merits for sure. I'd like to see what a really good Zangief or Dee Jay player could do with this. I'd love to see you give either one a shot, Max!

Yes, every fighting game has it's balance problems but this one is ridiculous... Other characters are so useless compared to Violent Ken, Evil Ryu, Akuma that you don't get to see them a lot. I was there during this stream and left because I was tired of seeing mirror matches every single time.

Those matches were nice but not super exciting. It was mostly just akuma or evil ryu. Aside from seeing the Chun li and max play violent ken. Would have been nice to see other characters like Vegas, deejay, or bison
