Im having issues doing a camera roll with music playing. It doesnt let me select music background if i select multiple pictures for my story. Makes no sense
hey! i would create the story without music (to start) and simply save it. and then start fresh, insert the "saved story with multiple pictures" as just "one photo" and then add music. it'll take about 5 seconds longer to save/start fresh, but it'll work. pretty quick hack!
Finally. Some one I can understand, is organizer, and knows what we want. IN MY OPINION Stephanie Parsi's info should have 25000 views. Now, back to the story how to.

I’m so frustrated with FB. Last week after we buried our brother I did a story using multiple pictures of him from my camera roll. After selecting about 10 photos the next button popped up and I pressed it. It gave me 2 options “ separate stories or mashup option. I select mashup and then add music so that the pictures go from one to the other and the music plays throughout the whole process. I did that about3 times last week. Now after selecting multiples I know get the options to choose separate stories (👎) or a collage with all the pic displayed at once and the music plays. I don’t understand how the options changed and I cannot seem to fix this. Trust me I’ve clicked on every button I’ve seen. Please help me understand what I’m doing wrong

if i’m understanding you correctly, i believe that you’re the only one that will see the “your story” displayed at the bottom. so i wouldn’t stress over it!

hey norma! it totally depends on your content in the stories, but repurposing content IS SMART. with reels you really want to make sure you have captions/words, and negative hooks tend to do the best!

OK, great information but NOT for beginners. You explained everything assuming the person watching already knows how to construct a story. Before you talk about options, please explain how to post one simple picture then go from there. is there a draft function you can check before you post? This is awesome! I might have missed in the video... how doe some change the background color of the story when you insert a photo from the camera roll. Stories auto assigns a background color that is part of the photo. Is there a way to change the color? I feel like there used to be, but I can't find it anymore!
hey! typically to get a different background color I first insert a blank colored picture -- in whatever color I want. easy way to do this is google a color, screenshot and crop the pic so its just that color and then insert it as the primary "photo" for your story -- and then you can simply add photos on top of it etc. make sense?
Hi, thanks for your vids. Very informative and easy to follow. I've now developed a problem however: it was ok to apply text to a few stories, but now I can no longer apply text. It doesn't show. I can add a picture or a sticker, but no text. So the text box shows up, I type, after I press apply it doesn't show. Would you know why?
hey sue! thanks! if you're on facebook, and you have your profile set to professional mode, you can add a link, and this will show up at the bottom of your story. which can lead people to learn more. on IG you can use the add link button!

hey katie! its based on how many times a person is clicking the heart/like button on your story! sometimes a person will click it once, or sometimes they'll click it multiple times. :)
For a Business. Do you recommend always posting stories on Facebook and Instagram separately (duplicating the post or fresh content) or create on Facebook first and then share to Instagram automatically? Until I watched this tutorial I didn't realise how much can be done on Facebook stories, I always though Instagram was superior. I think at the end you might have answered my question, save the Facebook story and upload/repurpose to Instagram? Not share using the platform functionality?
hey Samantha! it really depends on your purpose and desires for each platform. I typically try to post natively to each platform (so as you mentioned, save the story and the re-upload). but if you're not really focused on growing a platform, then using the "share to platform functionality" is fine! :)

I would use an additional app to make this happen! :) example, the "clips" app on an iPhone or the app MOJO - you could make a quick picture slideshow and save it too your phone, and then YES, you would be able to play the song the entire way through. hey! great idea! one hack would be to do a video that has your music playing. then use the "overlay pic" option and you could resize it to totally cover the video. hence an image of whatever you want, and then the video would have your music. :) make sense? Hello and thank you for your tutorial. I feel like such a jerk. I was a 26-time international award winning broadcast television editor for 26 years. I owned and operated my own broadcast production company. I recently have been dealing and healing from a bad concussion and a fractured skull I got when I had a bad motorbike accident about 6 months ago. I'm much better but still have a hard time comprehending new editing procedures (amongst other things). I retired in '06 by the way and technology is "a whole new world", since I was an editor. All I'm trying to learn is how to edit a sequence of about 15 still pictures edited to music. It's not for a business venture, it's really just for show, for my Facebook Friends. How do I save my story when I have finished editing the pictures so I can then add the music and have the music start at a specific location of the song? I can't find a save button anywhere in the app. Please consider my situation when answering my questions as I know you will. Thank you so much, Jeff
Jeff, I'm trying to do the same thing for the same reasons. 10 years ago my wife lost both legs, an arm and an eye and suffered multiple organ traumas as well as a traumatic brain injury that took most of her remaining abilities. I have thousands of pictures and videos of her recovery. I'm now looking to create a story of her recovery. It appears though that this FB story is only visible for 24 hours. you can go live in IG stories but not in FB stories! for IG, in the app, open to create a story, and live is one of the options you can scroll to at the bottom.
Using a phone SUCKS for us older folks. Keys too small, photos too small. Also, I save photos to my laptop and never to my cellphone. So, cellphones suck!

hey sandra! nope, once a story is posted a person isn't able to go back and change it. :) you'd have to delete the story and post a new one.
