Thank you for watching 😀😀 At first it was because we wanted to do it as cheap and quick as possible but then we looked into it and realised how weak windows can be. We wanted the van to be really secure so we chose not to put windows in :) Also because we didn’t really want it to look like a camper van :)

We used ply and tongue and groove for the most part. You can use pallets but you have to make sure that the wood wasn’t treated as some of them have a toxic coating when in confined spaces (the van) We chose not to as it can get pretty heavy pretty quickly using pallets

It might make your choice even more difficult since we have a Vauxhall Movano! (Same body as the Renault Master, just a different engine) We saw a few transits and they never appealed to us and then we stumbled upon ours and wouldn’t want it any other way! Hope you find the one you want soon!😃

How do you know how much of the sound absorption sheets to use? I have asked so many people and its always ignored. I see people using small squares within the framing, all the way to complete coverage before the framing and insulation. I have tried several times looking up the answer and Im baffled. Theres no standard it seems.
It depends on budget and weight. It’s a heavy and quite expensive material so that’s why a lot of people (ourselves included) only used smaller squares. This is enough to take most the rattles away but a larger coverage reduces it much more.
Thank you 😊 they aren’t missing, we planned to not have windows for security reasons and we love having no windows :) most of the time we are in nature so have the big doors open :) and when the weather is bad we use the huge window in the front of the van (the windscreen) as we only have a curtain there that we can open :) 😊😃
... tried to say a hole in the solar panel for the standard fan everybody uses. Then the panels could be put on a different area. Freeing up space for a larger top deck or adding an extra panel.
It's so that any moisture that goes through the walls doesn't ruin the insulation :) It seems to be 50/50 for people who agree for it and people who don't! Thanks for watching!

We were on the fence the whole build as to whether to include them or not. We figured we'd go without to start to see how that is. Normally we have the sliding door open so that acts as our window when we're stationary. Thanks for watching :)

We would never put windows in a van ☺️ even if we did another van we wouldn’t put in windows 😊 for security reasons and also because we are only ever in the wilderness so we have the door open :) as we don’t have a bulk head the light floods though the big window in the front, so it’s really light and open feeling ☺️

That would be good wouldn’t it!! I guess you can just get several 100w panels and lay them out however you like? But I prefer your idea!

Cute, but does the lack of windows bother you?
We would never put windows in a van ☺️ even if we did another van we wouldn’t put in windows 😊 for security reasons and also because we are only ever in the wilderness so we have the door open :) as we don’t have a bulk head the light floods though the big window in the front, so it’s really light and open feeling ☺️

Nicely Done But No Windows?
Thank you! We have the big window at the front when we have the curtains open 😄 we mostly chose not to add windows because of security reasons. And when we are hanging out inside the van we have the door open pretty much all the time 😁

Just curious , why sound deadening? Surely you’ll be stationary when in the back so no road noise

We also found it helps with noise when driving. We have a little before and after sound deadener video if you’re interested! Thanks
sound deadening is essential, even for changing the awful clanging of closing a van door! :)

Hi 😀 we have a hidden bathroom; the toilet is under the seat and we have a 12v rechargeable shower that we use outside or inside over a big bucket to wash our hair 🙂

Now I understand why the places that do van conversions professionally charge so much. It really is a lot of work to do it properly.
Some of those pre built ones are crazy expensive and they all look fairly similar!
