- Last year set a record for the most times white women have ever asked to speak to a manager. We’re living through a full blown Karendemic. But what is a Karen really? We wanted to get a definitive answer on the subject, so we went out on the street and asked kids to tell us what they know about Karens.

When I was a kid, our next door neighbor asked my mom to keep our well behaved, quiet dog in the house, because when our dog was in the back yard, the neighbor's dog would bark incessantly at her.
Our dog NEVER BARKED BACK. She always came when called. She was a good dog. But she was supposed to stay in the house so little miss yappy poodle would be quiet.

The Jimmy Kimmel Live studio is on Hollywood Boulevard, costumed characters hang out on that street.

I have worked at my local Walmart as a cashier for about five years and have seen and experienced many Karens. I had one recently that the credit card reader didn’t prompt for cash back and she jumped all over my case. Definitely just at least one disadvantage of working retail.
