- On Christmas Eve 2016 I went on a short morning trip to our Northern Waters to catch some Barramundi for dinner. We landed a few. Jason also demonstrates how to fillet and skin a Barramundi. Finally, courtesy of Fukien Chaw's TH-cam Channel, and fukienchaw.blog... I demonstrate how to pan-sear the Barramundi with butter and herbs.
I award you the barramundi king 2020

The guy that netted your ginormous Barramundi , quite a talent ah ?
Not too bad.
is the size limit 58cm?
Kinda sad but there are no size limits here in this country, but in Western Australia any Barramundi over 80cm must be released.
C LifeStyle im in Queensland Australia and all barramundi over 120cm have to be released, i didnt know that in W.A they had to be released at 80cm. i totally agree with it, wish it was the same in queensland, luckily ppl over here like to release the big barramundi :)
Australia has some great fishery rules, and therefore a great fishery where everyone can still expect a good feed. Wish they had such rules here too!
what kind of rig did you use?
For this one I was using a single hook Apollo rig.
Thanks buddy so you using alive prawn for the bait?
Yup
If you are gonna take a fish home and eat it, please knock the fish out, bleed it and put it inside a cooler with ice. The fish will die quickly, respectfully and the meat gonna taste a lot better. The sight of a very bloody fish when somebody is fileting it, just shows how excruciating it was for the fish suffocated to death. I bet it will not gonna be a good eating due to stress enzymes released since it took a while for the fish to die.
