    I am a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach, and Peer Advocate who has also been train and Certified as a Counselor. I work for an Outpatient Addiction Treatment Center. I guess what I really need to learn is how to set myself up in business rather than depending on someone else to provide me with clients. I am really impressed by the fact that you are so young and you have managed to figure out how to do all of this for yourself. Congratulations!

      I am sure the counselors around you would have an idea on how to start a career as a life coach. They might even know professional life coaches they could refer you to for you to get tips from.

I recently received my certification as a Confidence, Mindset and Law of Attraction Life Coach and I've been called to do this for quite a while... But I'm just now answering the call.😂 Thank you for being a breathe of fresh air and I absolutely love your energy.🥰

      @@timsnow6430 That's awesome, Tim! I've done at some hypnotherapy before. That's a good idea. Mostly my limiting beliefs are around if I'd be good at it, and if I'd get client's and the like. But I'm trying to base my decision off of who I will BECOME once I go through the life coach training. Not where I am now. Anyway! Thanks for the suggestion!

    Hi Emma, I've just started taking a life coach certification program here in the states. I was wandering why you have chosen to give advice instead of letting the client come up with their answers? And if the title "life coach" is the correct title for you? I'm genuinely curious because I love to give advice as well but have been taught, in my life coaching classes, that all people are resourceful and whole. This certainly challenges me to just "be" with people instead of trying to solve their problems.

    • @marce5b
      @marce5b 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question. Was there an answer for this?

    • @DayVidsgaming
      @DayVidsgaming 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My take on it is. She wants results. Sometimes when you find what someone wants to do, it’s better to lead them down that direction. Sometimes people don’t know what they want and what they think they want isn’t the answer. So it’s better to try many things to eliminate what you don’t like in order to achieve what you liked which you did not know that you liked.

    • @Lumana
      @Lumana 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes Tia- certified life coaches DO NOT give advice - they are on the journey with the client and help bring out the right answer for the client with proper questioning techniques. Giving advice is advising not life coaching.

    • @superherolifestyle1252
      @superherolifestyle1252 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, life coaches are supposed to be coming up with their own answers.

    • @gymnast2890
      @gymnast2890 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You aren't there to solve their problems, you're there to show them the path & give them some tools to help them solve their problems.
      Unless you are working with someone who is around toxic people, it might be appropriate to say, " You need to leave this man, have limited contact with your Mother" and/or give them very specific ways to deal with family members who are toxic if they don't or can't sever ties.
      If you are a spiritual coach you can't TELL someone their life path, you can only guide them. Does that answer your question? Peace&love❤❤✌✌

    Hey! Love watching your videos. Super uplifting! I have noticed though you’ve mentioned a few times that you haven’t gotten what you needed from counselling, which is completely a personal experience. I think it’s irresponsible to say all counsellors just listen and don’t give anything back though. Counselling has such a stigma and a taboo for many people already. We don’t want to discourage people for reaching out for help when they are feeling vulnerable. Please be more mindful of this going forward. Much love ✌️

    I used to be an elementary school teacher and people said the same thing “oh it must be such an easy job.” They thought “you just play with kids all day and teach them easy things like 1+1=2”. Yeah right, and parenting is easy too right? I wish people could try it just a day and see what it really requires.

      I used to teach level 1 kids swim class and lehhme tellyah... i felt like i needed a degree in psychology to work through the "let go of the wall, I promise you won't die" phase. The number of times I calmly looked a child in the eyes and said " do you trust me?" " I need you to trust me" hahaha. Good times. No, honestly it was really heartwarming when they finally let go.

      Ashley Baines I am in the US and I saw that but there are literally like 350 to pick from lol I would really like to narrow that list down on hearing from someone first hand what they would recommend, my first pick is Martha Beck’s program but it was one the more expensive ones.

      I started with the ICF list of accredited schools on their website and then focused on the ones that had programs that aligned with what I wanted and then went on all the websites and compared prices but I ended up picking IMPACT coaching academy because I like the vibe. Counselling is you find your own answers and what advice works for you is different for others, hence counsellors can’t advise , counselling is theory based of many concepts from humanistic to psychoanalysis and you find you think over other things that pop into their original concerns..
    what happens with suicide for a life coach ? In counselling you also need a contract , so if I say about money laundering , harm to others it’s the counsellors duty to take it further ..

    All coaches in TH-cam give advice... isn't coaching about having people get their own answers? I find most of TH-cam coaches speak at a very high speed, non-stop "talkers"... so I wonder if they really "listen" to coachees or just have a big ego and talk, and talk and talk.

    Great information thank you! I have to agree with what happened with you and counselors; I went in for divorce counseling and it was exactly that. Did not get any kind of feedback or help from the counselor at all. It was pretty much; questions to the effect to both of us, "Who do you want wake up next to?" we both answered and she didn't offer anything else. Ridiculous! Since that time, when I have looked back at those two sessions, they were absolutely of no value whatsoever, and why we stopped going after those 2 session. Yes we divorced.
