Got that same model man, good information to learn. Thank you for sharing.
Great video. I just checked mine. It's super dirty.
One point here. When you are swapping out the fluid, I’ve found that it helps to totally empty out the reservoir and clean it out. There was a good bit of crude in mine that needed a shop towel to get it all out. Yes, I waited too long to swap my fluid too! Lol😂. Thanks for the video!
Great Video Thanks 😊
All I did was add fluid.Put new reservoir caps on VTX 1800N and then no clutch? Brake is fine
Just an FYI. If you put your bottle above the bleeder valve it's impossible to get air back in to the system.
What is the brand name of the red stand that you have your bike leveled up with?
Terry Williams this is the one I got... u can find it cheaper on amazon

I have the same bike after sitting over the winter my handle feels loose without much pressure on the clutch and I cannot operate it correctly including finding neutral even when squeezed in all the way do you think bleeding it would resolve this issue and make the clutch lever firm again?
Hey DCF, I need those armrests on the sissy bar for my wife. Would you share the info on those sir? Thanks in advance, James
Hey James. I got the arm rest from Ultimate Seats in 2016. Unfortunately I believe they don't make it anymore.
My 2008 VTX1800C is very clunky between 1st and 2nd gear. Do you reckon a fluid change could potentially fix that?
I think they all are clunky. I doubt a fluid change would change that. IF you ride a Harley, it's even clunkier
@@dcfgarage I did clutch and oils. Little better, but not much. I'll just work on the preload technique now.
Question, i was riding my 03 VTX 1800CC clutch was perfect, the guy i got the bike from said was a brand new clutch, went to take it for a ride, no clutch, any idea?? Thanks
If your clutch doesn't engage at all, and you're sure yo have new plate, it's probably the hydraulic system. Do you know if he bled the clutch?

@@dcfgarage i don't know if he did, the fluid is dark, so you think if i bleed it, that should fix the problem??
@@diningroomfish5470 The clutch system on this bike is quite simple. The way you would tackle this is to first understand if the new parts that were put in are the correct ones. I would disassemble the clutch to check it out. The the friction disc and pressure plates are good, then I would check the hydraulic lines for any clogging or leaks. In that process, I would flush the brake fluid and put new fluid in.
So I don't think that bad clutch fluid is the main reason why your clutch isn't engaging. In my clutch flush video you can see that my fluid was horrible, but my clutch was still working.
@@dcfgarage crazy thing is clutch was working perfectly, went for a 100 mile ride, put the bike away, 2 weeks later went to take it out, no clutch
I was looking at the clymer manual and the clutch has 8 plates. I think there’s a high possibility that whoever did the clutch didn’t put everything back together right. Or maybe they forgot a plate, or maybe they used low quality discs and your bike might have been a bot low on oil and it wore out prematurely. I’m just guessing here. Anyway, I would definitely check for any leaks since that’s easier, then I would take the clutch apart
Cover that tank too !!! Brake fluid will destroy the paint so fast.
Great description of all aspects of the job.
