Red Light Therapy for Myopia Control | Myopia Awareness 2023 | Optometry | TUF

The University of Faisalabad recently contributed to raising awareness about myopia, following the guidance provided by the Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI). The aim was to educate and inform the general public about the growing prevalence of myopia and the importance of early detection and management.
Department of Optometry proudly unveiled a new invention, the red light therapy device for myopia control. This innovative device, developed by a dedicated team of Sania, Areeba, Arooj, Sahaab, and Saliha Under the supervision of Mam Maryam Jabbar, aims to slow down the progression of myopia in individuals. The invention sparked and highlighted the department's commitment to advancing eye health research and technology.
Adding to the significance of the event, Adjunct Professor Mark A. Bulimore from Houston University, United States, a renowned expert in myopia, gave a comprehensive review of Maryam Jabbar and her team's efforts regarding the development of the red light therapy device. His endorsement further solidified the importance and potential impact of the device in the field of myopia control
