I use a potatoe peeler to nock the tops of the kernel off then scrape everything into a bowl with a butter knife. That's the way I was taught but always looking for something faster
This is how my granny used to put up her corn, which was field corn (her favorite). She taught me by letting me help. We could cream the corn using a corn cutter. Then we would put it into one qt freezer bags (the kind you spin and tie with bread tie), then in the freezer. To cook it she would heat up a cast iron skillet with a stick of oleo (I use a half a stick of butter) in the oven. When it was hot she’d put that frozen creamed corn in it then back in the oven. Every 15-20 minutes she’d take it out scrape off the thawed parts flip the frozen parts and back in the oven. This is when the magic would happen, when it started to fry in the oven. She would take it out and stir it up, scraping the crispy parts off the sides. She’d add salt and pepper that’s it! When it was done it was almost like you could slice it. Thick, crispy, starchy-gooey and sweet…oh so good! I have as an adult done yellow corn…even candy corn this way, but my favorite is still field corn. For the person that didn’t know how to use the corn cutter you can use it for cutting corn off the cob one way (sharpe blade) and creaming the corn you turn it the other way (spike side). You can buy frozen rolls of creamed corn which is as close to doing it yourself as you can get. I’ve found them at Walmart.
@@elsaborowka8110 my grand parents didn’t have the room to grow corn in their little garden so I don’t really know. But I do remember my mom buying corn from people selling on the road side. I guess it would depend on when it was planted, etc.
I tried this method with about 200 ears of corn & it saved me so much time!! Ty so much for this video! Also, I didn’t save many cobs but now I know to do that so I can make corn cob jelly & the syrup! My question is can you boil the cobs down twice to get the juice? Or is it a one & done type deal? I’m new to this but I’d like to boil cob to make my jelly then boil again to make my syrup? Anyone know if this would work? Ty for any tips! 🙏🏼
Lower Alabama checking in. I love corn this way. God bless

@@tbone1989 thank you.
My favorite is field corn too,it's what my grandpa grew and l love it.
Can this cream corn be pressure canned?
I froze mine! I’m new to canning but heard horror stories online about people canning corn so 🤷♀️. I’m following to find out.
Once you have had it this way you won’t want to eat corn any other way.
It's about the only way,l love corn.
When do you pick the field corn, how do I know when it's READY? I have a corn field in my front yard.

Exactly how me and my parents do it. Would you happen to be from north Florida or lower Alabama
Looks like silver queen corn ❤
Looks wonderful 😊
Where can I find that corn cutter
Amazon is where I got mine but I can’t figure out how to use it.
what did you put into the corn? water, milk, or what?
Nothing
Put it in a skillet with salt and pepper
What temperature do you heat it too?
She said 350 in the video 😊
Just the way my mom did it..
How many ears was that?
