Admittedly....this was from several years ago.......BUT....Cairns needs to think about his ' Throw away comments ' rubbishing ' the parks games ( or the small leagues ) ....that's where the diminishing few youngsters start out in the game.....and that's where the lifeblood to keep the game going needs nurturing !!!!
Fantastic entertainment. Well done both guys. I’d be lucky to score 5 against either of them.
Lovely live game
it's funny that andy and steve talking about rules when bowlers were bowling before the jack stops xd
didn't even stop his own....which goes back to one of your videos and interesting observations.
Fantastic, just watched it brilliant well done 👍
I've had the honour of playing on this green recently and it's such a shame that the green has gone, as an 18 year old that plays regular, it's a shame that I will never have the chance to play this green again
whats happened to the green? bowls not played at this venue anymore?
If so why?
I used to play loads of bowls in the ‘80’s.
I love the needle out there. I got the same stick when I won the All England Under 18’s back in 1982 and beat a lad from Warwick & Worcestershire in the quarters.
Anyone remember me?!
I remember you. What a legend! Hope you're well sir and still launching those bowls!
You remember me? Blimey!
Unfortunately I haven’t played in years mate but I’m determined to get back into it sooner rather than later.
Fantastic stuff.
Both players contributed to a superb match, shame that there was a loser.
Cracking game
At 1:06, Black's right foot was not in contact with the footer at the moment of release, for what was deemed a successful strike. Should the referee have intervened? Just asking.
Great to see its back in the BCGBA coffers.
At 1:05, on 19 across, Black walked down the line of his first bowl, leaving the Footer by 10 feet whilst blocking the view of Blue - you can see Blue trying to see round him. This violates the rules, and should generate either a penalty or final warning from the referree? Just asking.
My man callums run a whole marathon by time hes finished his game
At 1:01 Blue carried his 2nd bowl up to the jack when inspecting the Head, before returning to the Footer. According to the rules, should that bowl have been considered bowled, and removed from play? Just asking. Nice video.
Shades of Vernon Lee the dance master.
Love a bit of needle to liven up a game. Well done both Greg and Callum, you are both bringing the game back to life. Do you give lessons by any chance?
Cracking game, few lose ends but not many. Wow
Is Callum a full time professional as he’s on every video I’ve seen
Big time, and an extremely rich professional at that what with all his sponsors etc. Guy is a legend.
Callum great for game, hope can play you one day.
DeD trim get droped
Rather die then playing this
Hate watching players with attitude brings the game down as far as I am concerned !! And heard that the Waterloo is closing for good because they can't negotiate a long enough lease towarrent doing repairs ect .
The Waterloo is dead. It's rotted away and it'll never return. I live around the corner and it would take triple figures before even attempting to repair it. Leave it as a distant memory. The only time bowling was good is when we got coverage and eyes on it like this, soon as it was canned the whole thing died. RIP Crown Green.
Oh any by the way the game needed attitude and youth like these guys rather than boring old farts - why do you think Darts took off and not this? Because it had characters and flare! Not enough characters in CGB. Refs with blazers? LOL Its not 1920s anymore. No wonder it died.
The ref should step in
Why is that?
Unpleasant watching.......
Very entertaining, but that's just not bowls for me.
What you mean all the camaraderie and excitement of possibly one of the best matches to grace bowling history? No wonder the game is on its arse if people want it to continue to be dull as dishwater, flat caps and old men. No wonder the darts is way ahead of this game now.
trust the poms to invent such a odd game...ever heard of real lawn bowls ?
Lol yea a uncultured foreigner like you 😂👉🤦♂️ wouldn’t understand the beautiful game of Crown Green bowls
@@thirdratecontent585 This isn't bowls...It's a pub game..Have a crack at the real game that's played in many Commonwealth countries and requires genuine skill ..Any village idiot could play this ..Excuse me while I go out and polish the Bentley ...
@@rodneymcgiveron Clearly you’ve never been on a Crown Green. It’s not flat like your used to and needs way more skill. Excuse me while I go polish my Ford Focus 😂🤦♂️
Lawn bowls and crown green bowls were both invented in England and have been played in the UK for hundreds of years
@@rodneymcgiveron I’ve played both and lawn bowls is a piece of piss compared
