Requiem For A Dream is a fantastic film and insight into how drug abuse destroys your life but I still think that this storyline blows that film out of the water. I think it's because it shows how Holly got into drugs and the slippery slope and how easy it is to have your life taken over. Tremendous acting from everyone in this storyline, definitely the hardest hitting one!

I don't care if she'd an addict - how does that explain her nonchalant and callous attitude coming down the stairs at the beginning of this clip. When she's not high - isn't there any sense of shame, or embarrassment? I just don't get that.
I can kind of understand how an addict could lie and steal - though it's hard to fathom going as far as Holly did for me, but maybe a strong addiction would do that. Acting like nothing has happened though, even though she can't remember, thinking it's funny or something - I don't see what that has to do with addiction.

When you are in the full grip of addiction, it strips you of all shame, embarrassment, it strips you of your conscience, bit by bit, the only thing they can think of is their next fix, they might suddenly get a grip of reality but it dissolves away soon after usually because the need for the drugs comes back. Truly a horrible thing and I have seen it first hand within my family. Its a terrible thing addiction.
I didn't expect her to give up her addiction or not got for her next fix - I guess I just thought there might still be some sense of shame knowing how their family is looking at them - after such a binge. It doesn't mean they will stop, I know that. That's all I meant. Sorry if I sounded ignorant.
