With Phil C back in the limelight there will be a reassessment of him both musically and personally. A generation of people will be vaguely familar with him but for others who remember the 80's ... he was everywhere performer, producer, movie soundtracks, Band Aid, actor, singer, playing on other people's songs, Brand X his side outfit, his solo stuff, Genesis etc etc... His inaugural Face Value album was of it's time but has aged very well. In my opinion his musical output epitomises an example of a musician who pushed his talent to the limit. He's still burning brightly. "If Leaving Me is Easy" and "You know what I mean" "It must be Love" are songs that are evocative and are some of my favourite PC tracks. Great to hear "He's not dead yet". A consummate musician. A musical icon!
He has brought me through some very tough times and has helped in closure to that time of life So connected to his stories. I have such a High Regard of Admiration for Mr. Collins.

Both Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins have cited Phil to be an influence. Imagine Phil being invited by the Foo Fighters to play with them, doing "In the air tonight" with all three of them on drums. Hell yeah, I would pay to see that happening.
I've loved your music since I was a teen - I'm late 50's now and have nothing but admiration for you - it's heartwarming to hear about your kids playing along beside you! I was in the first few rows of seats in one of your Invisible Touch shows in Virginia, USA back in the 80"s, and that remains to this day is one of my top ten memories from my life. I think Phil should play some lesser known songs on this tour. As a fan for 25 years, it's albums like Both Sides which I love more over the commonly played 'greatest hits' songs.
I'm 16 now and grew up with the more known songs because of my dad, and I just wishes he would come to the Netherlands and play them but I totally get your point of view. The less known songs are always underrated and aren't played at concerts often and that sucks when you've been a fan for so long!

I Love Phil Collins, such a great musician, songwriter, singer and performer. as a 55 year old drummer and singer i have been listening to Genesis and Phil since 1980 and i can honestly say he is one of my biggest inspirations........along with Neil Peart of Rush...... I just Love the guy. Thank you for the music and memories Phil :)
Phil, when I was young i began to hear your music, first with Genesis, than solo. I remember hot summer days when No Jacket Required was the sountrack of my youth, and Genesis is still the band that means all to me. I wish you all the best, be on board.
It's always such a joy to me when you artists say, in that veiled kind of way, that they're sick of their hits and would rather do other stuff. Of course people want to see those classic songs, but honestly? At this point, and particularly with how many videos you can watch of Phil singing ITAT and Sussudio live (and doing it much better than we can expect for 2017), I'd honestly rather see a set of Phil doing his own favourite songs. That to me would actually be NEW and INTERESTING, and would allow him to reinterpret and recontextualise stuff for the change in his life and stuff with a lower likelihood of anyone getting upset about him 'changing the classics'. From what I've heard from him before, I suspect things like the Roof is Leaking, I wish it Would Rain Down, We Fly So Close, Can't Find My Way (which is such a Peter Gabriel type song) and Both Sides of the Story would be some he'd like to play. And TBH, while I'm by no means a huge fan of a lot of Phil's solo material, I would rather see him play those less famous songs, some of which are quite good, with a live band than see him play the hits again. Throw a couple of Motown covers in, I don't mind. He won't do it, of course. Maybe he could do a special show, or a 'garage show' of those and put it on DVD. I'd buy it. Or heck, pull a Sting and go tour with PG. Double the fun and double the exposure for half the work.

I nearly lost the use of my legs, but my neurosurgeon saved me. I, too, had 'drop foot' for quite a while afterwards--I mean after I was back to work. I had a Silverado pick up and I used to have to pick my leg up to get it in the truck. Probably took about 3 yrs for me not to notice it. Keep the faith, Phillip! You'll be able to bang it with your foot again!

I've never been a closet Phil fan and in years past took unwarranted flack for it a lot. He is a legendary performer in every sense of the word. His autobiography in in the mail!

Hey ,I'm a 57 year old guitar player, who has had back surgery ,as well as left hand surgery way back in 1996 18 months later I was playing in my old band again!! But as for the back-I also did a hell of a lot of WATER therapy along the way,an had broken a lot of other bones in my pelvic girdle area which includes the "pubic ramus - " portion area of your body that Is in a constant state of pain and a fracture that goes right into the hip bone & never quits hurting !! I still play my guitar these days but mostly alone at home in office part of my home but have pretty much given up on playing with old band mates ,If you've ever been in one you'll know what I'm saying. I can still play ,as for doing a weekend gig not sure how that would work for me. I didn't mean to get so long winded in this response , but am trying to tell people how bad these injuries really are, my ass is killing me as I sit and type this out!!! Not to mention the fall that got me here in the first place about 35 yrs of drywall work has taken more than its toll on this ole music mans body. So believe Phil when he' says he may never play the drums again and seems to have settled that in his mind , body , & life, but hey you can bet your ass if he comes to AMERICA on this "broken body parts tour" I'll be in the audience doing the- du-du ta du ta du ta--du-du "in the air that night ole lord willing!!!! Peace.

I got to see Phil Collins in concert and it really was bad ass. I've even seen the Eagles in concert also. Two of the best times of my life.
