Thinks I usually never say, but this time it is true: ha! I know you from Flickr and remembered your name, when i saw your video. 😊 I use the contax rts and have a 35mm 2.8, a 50mm 1.4 and recently found a very good condition 45mm 2.8, which is really great and which was burried between some very crappy and broken zoom lenses, what a gem. 😊
Nice and useful walkthrough! Worked with the Nikon FM2 and F3s back in the days - now I’m all about cameras being small and convenient, while still delivering top notch quality. Have my eyes on the Aria with the 45/2.8, loved to hear you describe the viewfinder experience. As the camera really has next to nothing to do with the image quality directly, what I need from the black box is nice handling and sweet viewfinders 😎
Great video! I own a Contax G2, Aria & 167MT. The Zeiss glass is absolutely incredible for the Aria & 167MT. I truly think this is one of the best daily carry cameras. I haven't explored much into the c/y mount sigma glass but I'm sure it's good!!
The Contax Aria is the only model made by Contax that doesn't have the mirror slide problem. It is nestled in the frame. All the previous Contax models can have a slipping mirror, but Kyocera was aware of the problem when they designed the Aria.
Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you!!!! I wanted to ask something: I am behind the Zeiss 25mm f/2.8 Distagon for the contax rx camera and my mirrorless!!! do you have any references? I know the Zeiss quality backs up it but I would like to read your opinion... is it a good lens or do you recomend another one with the same range of focal length? (28mm max) thanks a lot
I love my RX but that is one chunky unit. If I were to buy a second 35mm body, it would probably be the Aria, even though they're pretty expensive for what they are. And I would definitely pair it up with a 45mm f/2.8 Zeiss. I used to run a similar digital setup with my Pentax K5IIs + 40mm f/2.8 Ltd pancake and it was the absolute best vacation camera.

Hey any chance you can comment on focus shift on that lens? I don’t know much about it but it came up in a couple of reviews
Review Lens WITHOUT EDITED JPEGs.
Should be straight out of the camera.
