- Bethenny Frankel was paid $7,250 for Season 1 of RHONY. "The contract said $7,250 which I did not dispute. I was a nobody.
The only thing I did cross out was the thing that said Bravo would take a percentage of anything I make. I was a nobody...but somewhere down deep inside of me, I understood conceptually that was wrong. I was going places, and nobody was going to own any part of it," she continued.

So you're telling me anybody who does the reality thing on Bravo has to give a cut ANYTHING they make for the rest of their lives? Even if it has nothing at all to do with Bravo? How can they write a legal contract so open-ended and arbitrary? FOREVER ??? How is that not indentured servitude?
It means that those lawyer will get residual income because they think people won’t notice and people don’t notice.
Crazy for them to write such a contract. She was broke and could've missed that part of contract hence screwed!!
In perpetuity, why did Prince change his name to a symbol no one could pronounce and perform publicly with the word slave written on his face? This is very common in contracts for ALL sorts of entertainers, Bethenny was smarter than most
I don’t like her drink but she has always been my favorite in business. She reads & really looks in the future and how that will play out.
I trust her completely, when she rates beauty products. I’d trust her over anyone else because she doesn’t have any reason to lie.

The whole first season she was paid $7250 but went on to earn a million plus per season. From a “nobody” to the brilliant Skinny Girl empire girl we still love!
This is also why shows like American Idol and Americas Got Talent are not worth it. Even if you don’t win or even get on the show, if you do something on your own later, they get a cut.

I loved that they added you but I couldn’t figure out why it was to housewives since you weren’t married at that time nor did you have an ex husband. That part didn’t make sense to me but I will say it didn’t matter because you added so much to that show!

My understanding was that the contract was a set amount & as she steadily climbed up to the green higher each fiscal year, she began to bigger events & product launches get bigger and more extravagant & this is a main reason why bravo was so upset about the situation & it was more about losses while basically airing a commercial for her brands & businesses, but now bravo has a specific number they expect minimum from a bravo star having an event but I can't remember what the exterior details were that was such a big deal

I never really committed to watching the shows like true fans of Housewives but you were on the few that I saw and you were great.
