Can't believe I've never heard this guy before - CBC Radio played this Friday afternoon...I pulled over so I could just listen.
I'm with you. This guy is just amazing... He was able to use words to paint a melancholic picture of a relationship that has disintegrated and the reflections of what could have been. These kinds of songs feel like a gut punch, but that's OK. Any song that speaks to the fragility of relationships and the human condition is going to grab my ear.
I did a search on CBC’s website cause I heard the same show on Friday. I tried to Shazaam the songs while I was in line for gas at Costco but didn’t realize I had cellular data off. I even had CBC Music on the hunt on Twitter. At least I know who it was. Weird that there was the difference between what we heard and what CBC Music had on record though. My new favourite singer!
