I’m in Lanegan’s books right now. If you haven’t, read Sing Backwards And Weep, he is an amazing writer, very descriptive. Best book I’ve read in a while.
@Futureacquiescence I know what you mean. I bought the physical copies but haven't read The Devil In A Coma beyond a few pages yet either but it's already good.
I listened to the ‘Weep’ audiobook cause I love his speaking voice almost as much as his singing voice. Just haunting hearing him describe a life that’s so delicate and also so painful at times that it’s hard to stop listening once you start.
R.I.P. Mark Lanegan You will be missed by many Thank you for the music!!! This was always my favorite version of Autopilot thanks to his legendary vocals 🤘🏼 Rest easy now
bulky Ash Ketchum on drums, shady truck driver on vocals, cheesy but cool looking teenager on lead guitar, bald psycho on bass and emo looking bloke on keyboard/additional guitar what a band
“Shady truck driver on vocals?” For sure you have no idea who Mark Lanegan is!!! You better do some tease arch before you say anything or you might better shut your %#@hole!
This is better than the studio, and the studio is flawless. Somewhere there's a universe where Mark said yes to Josh's offer of lead singer and everything they did sounded like this.
He was very unique, that's for sure. He gave me goosebumps the first time I heard "Song for the deaf" live, with Dave G. on drums. And boy, we're talking LIVE!! Long live Mark Lanegan!! A legend.💋💋👏🌲🎙🎼🎤🎸
Back when every song by QOTSA live sounded different from the original. Every song left spaced to jam. Not that I don't like new QOTSA because I really do, but these live performances were awesome.
My first memories of QOTSA were of Josh Homme. Awesome musician. Then I heard and saw that Mark did some work with the band. HOLY SHIT!!! He has always had the calm...swagger to him and always would let you know he's the man. He owned this fking song LIKE A BOSS. I never got to see him in person or to see him play live but DAMN I WISH I could have. Long live Mark Lanegan
So privileged I saw this lineup in the Enmore Theatre in Sydney in Jan 04. A far cry from home in Ireland, backpacking around Oz, with Songs For The Deaf as a companion, my god what a treat.
Realizing what a rare event this lineup of people was. Rip Lanegan. Pls live to be at least 110 Nick, Troy, Joey and Josh. Thank you Josh for bringing em all together. 2002 never really faded away.
I used to get so fucked up to this song and jam to it on my guitar. I'm glad I'm off the fake but damn I wish I could have that high back and listen to those hypnotic bends again.
Meh, I always thought Joey had a style that fitted in with QotSA much better than dave... but at the moment Jon Theodore knocks them both right into the middle of last week!

EPIC Live version of Autopilot with PNW Legendary Vocalist, Lanegan displaying that 2-pack per day Grunge rasp better then Most.... (RIP) Gone, but Never forgotten 🙏
I love Lanegan so much but omg, the drums here, this drummer is absolutely amazing and the intro really builds this fantastic tension. It somehow makes the song ten times better than the album version. I have no words to describe it. Drummer good.
What a lineup and a killer performance. Man, I miss lanegan over some hard rock. Don't know if I'm just not picking the right solo albums but nothing I've heard of his compares to his work with screaming trees and qotsa
RIP MARK LANEGAN!!!!!!!!!! Honestly this is the best live performance of this song 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Indeed pal 🤜💥🤛
I can't believe he just passed! Terrible tragedy, one of the greatest singers in my opinion
th-cam.com/video/0IIjGVp9Yd0/w-d-xo.html listen to this too if you haven't!
done..
he passed? his vocals stand out on QOTSA records ( not taking anything away from Josh)
I’m in Lanegan’s books right now. If you haven’t, read Sing Backwards And Weep, he is an amazing writer, very descriptive. Best book I’ve read in a while.
Such an amazing book (sing backwards and weep). I can’t bring myself to read his 2nd one… still can’t believe he’s gone
@Futureacquiescence I know what you mean. I bought the physical copies but haven't read The Devil In A Coma beyond a few pages yet either but it's already good.

100% agree
Couldn’t agree more. If he wrote that book unassisted he was a borderline genius. It’s an amazing read so we’ll written
No matter how many times i've heard this song, i never get tired of it
Edward X It makes me feel good everytime
So true
9 years later and yep, still not old
Same story with "in the fade" for me
Just like " in the fade"
I wish this song was still on their setlists, it's so good.
This song should be
What's the point? Nick or Mark aren't in the band, this song was ment for them
I wish this was still the Queens lineup 😪
...and Castillo
It's a nick oliveri song, plus lanegan is no longer in the band
The thing about Qotsa is that you don't realize how much of a rock band they are until you see them live
Absolutely!! I fell in love with them after l accidentally listen to the early live version of songs for the deaf.
I mean....they used to be
I saw them at Coachella. Blew me away!!
So damn good

Awesome vocals from a heroic rockin dude!
Definitely well said...
That guitar tone dude!
out of a 300 dollar korean guitar. fucking nuts!
thanks for the info. It's creepy!
He makes it cry!
Then he left it to die.....
Yeah, it sounds like shit.
I like how Joey Castillo changed the drum beat, the original is fine, but this just adds a smidge of punky-ness that is just perfect
bulky Ash Ketchum on drums, shady truck driver on vocals, cheesy but cool looking teenager on lead guitar, bald psycho on bass and emo looking bloke on keyboard/additional guitar
what a band
Well played. Love it.

R.IP Mark Lanegan. Phenomenal voice, no one like him.

I love the sound of Josh's guitar on this.
QOTSA rules! I wish Lanegan would have done more on Era Vulgaris and toured with them again.
damn it's weird replying to this comment 13 years in the future, RIP Mark!
@@Danny-wv8ec indeed. Rip Mark- sad days when almost all the ogs are gone-
QOTSA’s best lineup . Josh’s guitar tone is so killer. RIP Mark . 🙏🏻
I probably agree. I really liked Alfredo on drums in the split Kyuss/QOTSA ep also
Yeah but the current lineup which produced Like Clockwork is pretty awesome.
Yea right this drummer sucks compared to Dave 😆
Makes me want a late 1990s Epiphone dot now
Glad I witnessed this line up...!
Rest in peace, ol' & gold Mark Lanegan! The Pirate. Your legacy is unforgettable and your voice is unmistakable.
HONESTLY, THIS WAS THE BEST VERSION OF QOTSA
truth. not the same without nick and joey. and of course mark, RIP.
Disagree. Each era had its best parts. I’m loving the latest version live.
Mark Lanegan and QOTSA are fucking perfection together. Pure perfection.
Back when every song by QOTSA live sounded different from the original. Every song left spaced to jam. Not that I don't like new QOTSA because I really do, but these live performances were awesome.
The bass, the drums, the guitar and the singer...all perfect. RIP Mark 🙏
Best formation this band ever had.
Lucas Indrusiak what about Dave??
nope
Bruno Treachi Dave on Songs for the Deaf was amazing! However, I don’t think he would’ve belonged with Queens personally had he stayed with them.
