I love that you took that 55 and made it into something useful and cool! I use my 57 wagon to tow all the time. To me the fun is in driving them. Keep it up.
Hey Dan if you happen to see this: Back in the day there was a TV show called “Chop Cut Rebuild” that did a whole rebuild series on an orange ‘75 Bricklin that turned out really sweet. It’s probably a bit dated now, which makes me feel old, but it’s definitely worth a quick search/watch if you wanted to learn some more about them or even get some inspiration or ideas in the event you do something with it in the future. Prior to seeing that show I had never heard of a Bricklin so anytime one pops up that car is the first thing that comes to mind. They are neat little cars with an interesting story.
@@kevinjohnson9372 the host and creator was Dan Woods who was a Canadian Actor but I believe a lot or at least some of the shops featured on the show were out of California. The Bricklin is a cool project. If the 351 is good -- and the metal frame isn't rotten -- you'll have something cool and different to drive pretty quickly. Looking forward to the series!
I once saw a couch fully ablaze in the middle of the highway at 3 in the morning with not another car in sight. But I believe the sight of a 55 Nomad pulling a Bricklin on a tow dolly would have surprised me more.

My wife and I stayed in our 96 ext cab ranger one night when we went to Kings Dominion somewhere around Richmond VA. Good times! Wasn't very comfortable, just a fun experience...
Congratulations that nomad tows like a boss…. Glad to see you two enjoying all your hard work. Keep up the great work big shout out to you from Mexico.

That is so awesome to be able to do pro tour and pull a car back close to home. With miner issues. Congrats Dan on a job well done. Tri five for life .
Hey guys you sleeping in the nomad brought back memories.. When my wife and I went on our honeymoon from Portage la Prairie to the west coast when we got to Calgary during the stampeed first weekend of July there were no rooms available ro rent.. We ended up continuing west to Canmore where we had to sleep in the back of our 70 roadrunner.. Got up in the morning and there was ice on the ground.. Had to sleep all night with the 440 motor rumbling to keep warm..
I always loved these. They look like a cross between a 240Z, a DeLorean, and a muscle car (and have the room for as much power as you'd ever want). Sure looks better than anything they make now. I'd build a hot Windsor, stick a Tremec of some type behind it, and rock it like a hurricane 🤘
Funny story...huge viewer of VGG and was watching the video when he was driving that very Bricklin out of Florida..and like all his adventures watching intently wait a minute he's at the shop right across from my place here in North Florida putting it on a hauler just like you taking it back to Nashville so glad she's headed home and maybe she will get a new lease on life...small world and wish you the best on this project.

That's Bricklin has been passed around like a two dollar woman of the night. From Tavarish, to VGG, to DD Speed Shop, to Mortske Repair. That thing is TH-cam infamous. Good luck!
After all of those hours , watching you put what was left of that Nomad (roof with a title) back into one solid vehicle , frame , drive train , then glass , it was nice to see you put some quality road miles on the Ol' So-Madd . NICE ! I will have to see how Derek did , getting it . But you got it home , turned it into a functional Bricklin again . Just had to watch how you got it , glad I did . She starts , runs , & smokes the tires now , baby . A Nice car , Canadian made , US parts . Mur is going to love it . Ride on , kids !
0:39 There was a vehicle, that is even harder to find that a Bricklin that was made in North Vancouver BC, called the Grizzly, it was a production built "mini" semi truck, that the idea behind it, was to rival the HumVee, but of course the US Government went with the HumVee, and the Grizzly went to Africa. If you GG Image Search "Grizzly trucks LTD" you will see a Yellow one on Flickr . I used to see the Blue pickup driving around North Van from time to time, and there is a red 4 door in Whistler at Route 99 & Lake Placid Rd beside the Seaside Diner GG Maps Lake Placid RD, Whistler BC.
I watch the story about Bricklin a couple years ago. The body panels were made out of the same stuff that shower surrounds are made of. You didn't have to worry about the paint flaking lol. The were cool looking cars tho.
The windshield is car specific and pretty much unobtainable. So definitely be careful with it. My dad knows a guy who owns the molds for those cars. Not sure if he's in the car business or even alive for that matter. He used to be referred to as Bricklin Bob Na Nova Bob. He specialized in Bricklins and 66/67 novas
Wow brother, my wife and I slept in the car alot. We did 63 trips between Ft.Lauderdale,Florida and Fayetteville, North Carolina between 2001 and 2003. We were moving and havin to go back and forth for stuff. We saved alot of money skimping on motels. It's 12 to 13 hours each way. We'd come up to Carolina. Stay an hour or two and turn around and head back. We did the quite alot. Up. Down. Up. Down. Up and then stop for then lol.
Great road trip. Thanks for taking us along. BTW we tow a vintage 17ft,1969 Aladdin travel trailer with our 427/M22 powered '55 Nomad. We've been to so many Canadian rod runs in the PNW We live just a few minutes from the border here in WA state and understand the cross border purchases.

I did one of these years ago! Not a rocket, but a great touring car, I'm a bit of a sasquatch and still found it comfy. Weird parts network. FOrd Eng and trans, Dodge rear end and drums, AMC bushings, Gremlin gas tank.. It's a challenge! But worth it.
Dan, hear you and Derik talking about coming to "Cruising the Coast" 2023, we would love to have yall down here, but hotel rooms along the coast fill up quik! Check into them now. We live on the coast, come on down!
Good to see the Bricklin back home in Canuckistan. There was a guy in Elk point Alberta that supposedly had 12 of them, most of them intact. He used to show up at all the area car shows with one. not sure what happened to the collection after he died.
Yeah Dannie the first time I used a pad for camping, I told myself I will never camp without a sleeping pad to sleep on. It beats sleeping on the service/ground have to have something in between the body and the ground, metal service. I slept in the back of my 1972 GMC SUBURBAN with a matt/pad under my sleeping bag saved on motel .
Very hard to believe that a short time ago that nomad was a rusted junkie but not quite Dead forever POS. Now look at it, it'll go anywhere anytime. Very good job Dan. And its worth some bucks too.👍
Dan , The 75 Bricklin has a Ford 351 Windsor engine... The desirable engine of early 70s was 5.8 L (351 cu in) Ford Cleveland V8 in several Factory High Preformance Fords at the time; including this cars exotic older cousin 1971 PANTERA DE TOMASO... !!
You and your wife are amazing people. I LOVE YOUR channel, it is awesome. I am a very huge fan. Mike Foit from Athens, Ohio. I would love to have that old 66 chevy. I have seen all of your videos, there all amazing. I would love to meet you and your wife. Keep up the amazing work you do.
As soon as I heard “St. Louis” and “1 or 2 in the morning” in the same sentence, I started worrying. First I thought “I hope they have a gun” and then remembered you’re Canadian. Uh-oh.
There is a few of those still in NB. There was one for sale in Moncton a few months ago I believe it was Ron Steeves old car (heard it went for 6000$). It was white with a 351 Ford engine very good shape and had it in a lot of car shows.
I was kinda hoping you were bringing the 3rd Gen Camaro next to the Bricklin back. I didn't read the caption before starting the video. I just looked for "DD Speed Shop" and hit play. That'll be a cool project someday too. I'd switch colors of the car though. How about "arrest me" Rustoleum (TremClad) Safety Red? LOL I think an LS would be cool in that car as well. Nice work on the 'Nomad. That trip was quite an accomplishment. 😀
Hi D and D. Dan, ask Mur about the early winter 1976 or so trip we made (with your Uncle Gerry) to retrieve my Porsche 912 (with a blown engine) from Alexandria, Minnesota. Only 300 or so miles from Winnipeg. Your towing adventure was a walk in the park in comparison.
I worked at a shop in the late 70s ans we had a customer that came with a Bricklin it had a Ford drive line so wr could order parts for a LTD that worked . His problem was the struts on the gull wing doors had gone bad and none of the parts houses in our part of Dallas had them , He had to wait till Delorian was introduced about 6 months later and bought the replacements for the Delorian door struts and they worked just fine on the Bricklin . The flip- up headlight motors came from a Corvette , those took some fabrication work to make those work !
Happy the '57 Canadian VW Bugs I have were already tossed over the border into Ray, ND where I picked 2 of 'em up. I like the look of the Bricklin. I remember them in car shows all clean and nice. Wondering why it looked so much better than the VW based kit cars of the era.
The first time I ever saw a bricklin was at Richard Chevrolet in Temperance Michigan in the fall of 73. My older brother was there buying his first car, a 73 nova hatchback. And the Chevrolet dealer had a brand new white bricklin in the show room for sale. I don't remember what kind of price they had on it but as an 11 year old kid I thought it was pretty cool looking. It would be cool if you found out where your car was originally sold at. Good luck with your new project. After 50 years I still think that they are cool looking.
When you said Super Car I KNEW what you had gotten from Derek. I watched him take it home. Personally I think it was a pretty cool car. Hope it doesn't take a whole lot to get it home. Good luck, and may God bless!!!
Awesome trip guys! Dumping the Bricklin off at Mortske's at the end was epic. He's such a douche....LOL Naw, seriously, hes an awesome guy....lol The Bricklin will be a cool project and one i hope you do with your dad. (I too, think he secretly wants it) Pretty sure you just proved the point that EFI isn't necessary for road trips, if you have an ounce of brains. The question is, were people paying attention? American powertrain is probably getting a few new orders after this too! It's hard to deny the benefit of Overdrive. That Nomad was rock solid reliable, and fairly basic.... well done Dan! Now get some rest!
That's real nice of you Danny to say you love Americans, I'm an American and I don't love Americans, I'm 46 years old this country is not like what it used to be!!!!!!
That’s cool you hauled the car with the Somadd. I was gonna pick up an 86 Camaro dirt track car in Columbia and haul it home with my 72 Gran Torino wagon. But it had rotted dirt track tires on it. I will have to make another trip down to get it.
Good one for Canada and Mur it was Father’s Day. Killer trip. The junk yard you went to looked to have a few good projects. I heard he is real expensive. I think it only a hour away from me,but I’ve not been in it. I got to pass bye the 57 y’all built that was cool the black fords was in line with it running 70 on the interstate. We were going to a concert. I told the family to keep on look out for the So MADD. My cousin told my wife is he really going to run him down to cruise with them. I don’t want to be late. Then we showed him on U- tube who y’all where. You now have a few more subscribers so like tag bye
Pretty cool projects but construction was less than perfect. I restored a couple of them. Those fiberglass panels are bonded to the metal innee structure. That bonding separates from the metal because the product back then was inferior. Going to have to peel it off and rebond it or it'll give you problems. Can be cool if done right. I think the guy that built the it was the first importer of Subaru or something like that if I remember correctly. Good luck and interested to see it get done.
That’s the original license plate for that car. The number and letter sequence is spot on. California cars with original plates bring a little bit more than non California cars.
A buddy I knew in high school used to drive his dad's orange Bricklin. I thought it was a big piece of crap back then and it was new. My opinion hasn't changed since then so I was wondering how Derek was going to get rid of his after he brought it home. Looks like he finally found a rube to pawn it off on. Good luck with that Bricklin! I've seen you do more with less.
I like how all the popular TH-cam mechanic guys are coming together its awesome

When friends let friends make bad decisions, you end up with a Bricklin
😂
Thought you picked up a Camaro, suprise! A Bricklin?
Some of the body panels dies were built at my shop here in Windsor Ontario. We still have the first production Bricklin at our shop.
Oh that's cool!
Can we get some pics or a video I think that would be great

I was kinda hoping you were bringing the 3rd Gen Camaro next to the Bricklin back. I didn't read the caption before starting the video. I just looked for "DD Speed Shop" and hit play. That'll be a cool project someday too. I'd switch colors of the car though. How about "arrest me" Rustoleum (TremClad) Safety Red? LOL I think an LS would be cool in that car as well. Nice work on the 'Nomad. That trip was quite an accomplishment. 😀
Glad you had a great time on power tour you two deserve it keep hot rodding
Mortske 65 Buick Riviera next to the Brickland!!! That's what you need . Big block car awesomeness
talk about an upgrade!
I think it was Car and Driver magazine that said of the Bricklin when it was new, that it looked like a Corvette swallowing an 8-track tape.
Mortski !! You guys are absolutely two birds of a feather
Dan definitely wears feathers.
Need to come to some car shows and meet up with the 6-10 guys that driving them around the city
He really is a tool in person I've been told.
Thic car is becoming the car youtubers dont want. Tavarish, derek, and now you lol. Good luck with it Dan
Hey Dan and Danielle👋, Thanks for sharing and have great evening✌️
Pretty cool projects but construction was less than perfect. I restored a couple of them. Those fiberglass panels are bonded to the metal innee structure. That bonding separates from the metal because the product back then was inferior. Going to have to peel it off and rebond it or it'll give you problems. Can be cool if done right. I think the guy that built the it was the first importer of Subaru or something like that if I remember correctly. Good luck and interested to see it get done.
That’s the original license plate for that car. The number and letter sequence is spot on. California cars with original plates bring a little bit more than non California cars.
Three greats well four in one video.Five if you count Duff dog. Great content!
My friends uncles dog had a barklin
Lol .. Yeah, the thing is just.....FUGGLY 😬. Be interesting to see what he does with that thing! LOL 😆
dan AND mortske?!?!?! this is like the best day ever!!! although it would be even better if peg and puddin showed up
He was here in spirit!
