✅ Nice John , you sold me on the Duo ; but I had just gotten the Fresco a few days before ; I am super impressed with the quality and functionality of these Laney A ❗😁
Thanks, JP. I bought one for my 12-string & Mel9 box. It's so good I bought one for my music partner too. She plays electro-harp. The Laney sounds fantastic with the harp, coping just fine with its bass and the complex sound. It's lighter than my Marshall AS50D and way superior. As acoustic amps go it's also inexpensive, at least it is here in Scotland. Can't recommend it enough.
Sweet amp! Dig the hat too. I’ve got a ’16 CC. Looking forward to catching you here in Norman next month. Still don’t know where, but I’ll keep asking around.
Great video, just a slight correction on the power specs, it's 2 x 60 watts for total of 120 watt output combined. That 100 watts is A/C power consumption.
Laney acoustic amps.. Ended up buying a LaneyA1 with celestion spkr for 50 count em us clam$ s/h - Amp is very good but even better with a preamp boost pedal thru the fx send receive loop - ive played it head to head with a German AER and yep sounded just as good and held its own.. highly recommended
If would be nice if you would do an episode on what pickups you use as well as other equipment on stage. Also what do you think of IRs for acoustic guitars like the LR Baggs VPDI or TC Electronics IR pedal?
Great review ! Never heard of Laney before but will definitely check it out. If it’s as good as you say ( which I’m sure it’s even better to a novice like me ) It would be a lot easier to drag around then an A&H board and a pair of QSC K-10.2’s or the Fishman Solo 330a. Thanks for showing us fascinating stuff like this. We’re lucky in so many ways that you share your wealth of knowledge with us here on TH-cam. Thank You!
What does the ‘remote’ input jack… and what is the difference between the ‘ground lift’… and i dont understand the pre post thing.. would be glad if you can explain that
Remote Input jack - stream music into the amp via 3.5mm cable , play along or just listen Ground lift - amp is on the ground next to high signal [speaker] cables and this may create "hum" - switch on ground lift to reduce or eliminate hum Pre/Post - connect the amp to PA system - use Pre for an output to PA Before the tone is dialed in on your amp [ie. the instrument will go out to the PA system flat regardless of your dialed in tone] ; use Post for the dialed in tone on the amp to go direct to the PA system
John; love the last 30 seconds of the video. Ukraine 🇺🇦 💔 (In aviation it’s KAY-BACK!!! Thanks for the review- good John stuff) Will still go for the Fishman. Less buttons. Does this have phantom?
I have a suggestion on how to grow your TH-cam video larger. You should give away a nice acoustic guitar have a contest don’t make it too hard make everybody be subscribed you might find some enjoyment and giving some special way.
HEY J.P. , WOULD YOU TRADE YR RED LABEL YAMAHA FG5 OR THE OTHER ONE #250..FOR HD28 MARTIN 2014 MINT SHAPE. IF SOMEONE KNOWS JP, PASS IT ON, (THANK YOU). just leave a reply comment, perhaps someone else may be interested..
Another amp that is well designed. Unless you purposely want to "create a sound" then all flat settings should sound like your guitar does, period. If it doesn't, what was the target for the design and where is it's neutral???
John, I enjoy your antics when you start your videos! Very amusing!

Stumbled upon one of these by accident while looking for an acoustic amp. Was hooked the minute I heard this beauty! Thanx for a great review!
Right On JP! We certainly do need something and music is a great way.
Love the JP reviews . . . like those numbers going up. Cheers.
Nice design. Thanks JP.

Good review! It is very clean and tidy!

You ever end up trying it out?
Hopefully Laney sees this , and you John become an endorser .Sounded very rich and full of colour 👌

They make a stand for this beauty. Laney that is.
So cool! Hey Jp, can you plug a mic in it and sing and play at the same time with it?
Hey John, Is that a speaker stand adapter on the bottom of that amp? I couldn't get a clear look at it, bonus if it is. Great review!
SOUNDS LIKE THE AMP IS IN THE SOUNDHOLE.
How will work with an Electric guitar plugged thru a minimal pedal board ? Good for a small jam or gig
Is $900 CAD the same as $579 US that's how much they are here for the Duo A..by the way its rated at 120 watts..sounds awesome!...
👍👍👍
900 canadian is about 645 euro, thats a lot of money man,the amp costs 285 euros in europe.
✅ true, poor John paid way too much for this model ⁉️🤔😖
Hey John I'm buying this amp for $300 ..is Canadian currency that much different.. you said 900 for yours.. was just makin sure
You should demo a different guitar for comparison. Another great review.
