I am the source of my temptations and trails because of my sinful mind and nature that I have not soberly assessed and asked God to subdue. This is the plight of the complacent. 😢😮
The Bible teaches that also Jesus had temptations but he overcame them. If temptations come from a sinful nature where did Jesus' temptations come from ? It is possible that some of your temptations come from your sinful nature but certainly not all of them. Sexual temptations do not - according to my understanding - come from our sinful nature. Sexual urges are created by God. They are a necessary "evil". Without them the human race would have disappeared from Earth a long time ago.

i am a vedanta student. i agree with Lord Christ's Gospel for endurance is what keeps this world functioning. it is hard. and because of the collective hardwork of people across the world, life exists as we know it. sure most of it might be fuelled by greed. but like a lotus in a swamp, life blossoms in Lord's Glory.
I do not think the Orthodox are really forming doctrines around one verse. After over seven years in all sorts of churches, I have concluded the Protestants tend to do that, hence much confusion and even cultlike practices entering the worship space. And, it is true that there was a Church before a written Bible. There is also a way to worship, which comes from our Jewish friends in the Old Testament. God bless everyone.
@Belg That's the difference between an Evangelical and a dead-brain traditionalist! These priests preach whatever they like, as their congregation is mostly illiterate theologically and wouldn't know! They tell people that they are miserable sinners and they have to grovel to God day and night for the hope of being saved! That's what drove Europe to Reformation (along with corruption and interference in civil matters). Followed by Enlightenment, Europeans freed themselves from the heavy yoke of the Church. Yes, it was the heavy-handedness of the Church that drove people away from the Saviour! They will be severely punished by the One who sits at the right hand of the Father, and all authority has been given to Him! Blessed be the name of the Lord.
