Personal experience : so my parents wanted me to go into upsc , iits or MBBS , but i am interested in physics , basically research , i love science , so I didn't went for any of these exam, and right now i am in my third year , i have part time job , many hobbies , and studying is amazing , i feel free and without any pressure , i am very happy for choosing a life rather than these exams ,
I quite UPSC 2 years ago after spending 2 years during college days and 3 years after college. After giving all these 5 years I realised that this race is for the ones who have nothing to loose. But I am glad that I quit this journey, started working on myself by gaining some new skills and applied for jobs and started working in Corporate. I realised that this wasn't meant for me, and if I stayed longer into that race then more I will be behind in life. And in the end it's all about life. It doesn't matters what your job is. If you are feeling lost in this journey and are having second thoughts then it's your gut feeling telling you something. Listen to it very carefully before you burn even more time for this ridiculous dream. ❤
Yes, guys, I am interested in science and technology, and I want to contribute through my interest in the progress of our country, and, I feel technology can become a solution for so many problems and I strongly believe if you want to do something with pure heart you are a successful person in every field but my father doesn't believe on this he always says in fact in every two - three days that Mr.X 's son Mr. Y's daughter is preparing for upsc with a simile, and he wants that I should also do it. I tried a lot that one day I also made him proud, but never ever this happened, it makes me sad because I want to make my parents proud and they will proudly say that "this is my daughter ".

The main reason is - An average Indian is fed up of being humiliated by govt lower bureaucracy. An individual earning 1.5 lakh/month has to deal with a clerk/tehsildar for a simple government task.Then Upsc becomes the only way to break this frustration.
The main reason is thing as you said. Its because even a babu with no relevant knowledge, getting salary from our taxes thinks he is above all of public. in the middle of my 2 year prepration i realised i dont want to do this anymore.not because it is tough[one of the factor yes ] but because the reason i have started was not the driving factor for me anymore. it is like coming out of a bubble and understanding your real priority in life. let me tell you this you have to be selfish and smart enough to not follow the stupid herd and be able listen to your inner voice . For me i dont know what i want to do anymore but whatever it is , it would be much better in every way. To be happy and content in life - live more and do less.

I've been humanities student from my school and took Geography as my main subject for my career and everyone suggested me to atleast try for PSC or UPSC once but I know that no matter how good I am in certain subject, it doesn't make me capable to compete in UPSC as it covers huge syllabus and take lot of time to invest and by the time I complete all my attempts, I would've been a fresher without a single experience in job or anything but bookish knowledge. I am glad that I've never been glorified with UPSC or PCS but I've worked on my other skills and choose better opportunity.
I am from lower middle class ....my parents are not educated ...so they don't know to guide...I am less fortunate to know about other opportunities since graduation I read about other ias officer interview so I thought to prepare for the exam .....finally I came to know .... competitive exam are not affordable for people like me ....I left out preparation ...joined in private sector....cos I never studied NCERT books ...I studied TN state syllabus that too mug up not applied any analytics skills just mugged up and vomited in test papers....done bba in graduation....I never knew another world of competition exit where u have to apply analytics skills needed

After three attempts i quit upsc and prepared for other government jobs and today I finally got a state govt job .

The main reason is - An average Indian is fed up of being humiliated by govt lower bureaucracy. An individual earning 1.5 lakh/month has to deal with a clerk/tehsildar for a simple government task.Then Upsc becomes the only way to break this frustration.

Upsc crack karne ke bad hath jada bandha hua rehta he. Power to sirf nam ka rehta he.or power sirf social media me rehta he. Ek lower level politician ka power bhi ek ias ips se jada hota he. Ias ips hone ka bad do option rehta he. Ya to politician logo ke sath hath milao (yaha bhi risk he, agar ap fas jateho to wo log hath utha lega) or imandari ke sath Kam Karo( transfer or life threat milta rahega)

Everybody is busy showering praises on this video but it's time that we realise why this glorification is being done.There are definitely other career choices but people are getting more inclined towards civil services as it is quite wholesome and provides fulfillment in times where private sector is making people suffer with mass lay offs. Also due to social media students come to know more about this field otherwise few years back almost everyone could imagine only 2 things either engg or medical.

I think there should be a separate degree for this exam... Every one will focus as per their interests...
If a person opts for that degree and doesn’t clear the exam, which is very much bound to happen due to the lack of seats,it will in turn create more incompetent people in the future who will have no other options left. Think before you suggest these good for nothing ideas.

in the middle of my 2 year prepration i realised i dont want to do this anymore.not because it is tough[one of the factor yes ] but because the reason i have started was not the driving factor for me anymore. it is like coming out of a bubble and understanding your real priority in life. let me tell you this you have to be selfish and smart enough to not follow the stupid herd and be able listen to your inner voice . For me i dont know what i want to do anymore but whatever it is , it would be much better in every way.
To be happy and content in life - live more and do less.

I've been humanities student from my school and took Geography as my main subject for my career and everyone suggested me to atleast try for PSC or UPSC once but I know that no matter how good I am in certain subject, it doesn't make me capable to compete in UPSC as it covers huge syllabus and take lot of time to invest and by the time I complete all my attempts, I would've been a fresher without a single experience in job or anything but bookish knowledge. I am glad that I've never been glorified with UPSC or PCS but I've worked on my other skills and choose better opportunity.

I am from lower middle class ....my parents are not educated ...so they don't know to guide...I am less fortunate to know about other opportunities since graduation I read about other ias officer interview so I thought to prepare for the exam .....finally I came to know .... competitive exam are not affordable for people like me ....I left out preparation ...joined in private sector....cos I never studied NCERT books ...I studied TN state syllabus that too mug up not applied any analytics skills just mugged up and vomited in test papers....done bba in graduation....I never knew another world of competition exit where u have to apply analytics skills needed
