After operating 19 years I've finally got into one of these. Its incredibly strange at first then its like everything else. I'm loving my time in this beast.
I saw those monsters a few years back in Carlsbad, CA. I think it was the late 1990's. We used to joke about "that machine skipped leg day" due to the skinny rock tracks.
Is it typical for the scooper to "struggle" when digging or is it because of the type of dirt he's scooping? When I watch videos of the super big front facing shovel ones they scoop quicker.
There’s nothing you can do if it’s in blasted ground diggers always going to sink , I wouldn’t shag around putting a bucket of rock where you sink just jump the tracks over a bit to firmer ground

I love this thing. You should post some videos. They are really rare now to see these units.
How I would love to be able to run one at least once in my life.

Those tracks seem very narrow for this excavator.
Big scoops of dirt material I'm guessing 12 to 15 tons
Actually the company is Pinnick inc. not LB3

Very nice ...
Firdt rule of loading set the chassis on a firm and level ground he has not done that causing wear on the undercarrage

Is this a rebadged O&K, or an original Cat?
Original Cat
Load from rear of body, you'll get more tonnage on
Sehr schmales Raupenfahrwerk für so einen schweren Bagger kann sich bei weichem, nassem Untergrund schnell fest fahren.
