Great video! In response to why Silver doesn’t get a Crobat right until the rematch - I thought perhaps this is because Golbat evolves with friendship. Silver doesn’t really understand this throughout the game, so it would make sense that Golbat only evolves right at the end when he begins to become friends with his Pokémon. That’s just my theory! :)
oh shit, that's good stuff! it makes sense--friendship was kind of the focus of this generation, so it make sense they'd make a rival with that mechanic in mind

Although, my terrible memory found the names confusing. I wish that, after you'd found their Hidden Powers, you'd take them to the Name Rater & give names that help remind viewers of their HP Type. Still, excellent video, otherwise!

That was a nice run. But say, what do you think about this type of challenge: Can you beat pokemon black/white by using pokemon on max lvl 36 at fightstart. Let me explain: -You can use every pkm available at usual playthrough - no pkm you use can be higher than 36 at fight start - exeption: pkm league. You can start with 6pkm at max 36 per try. If you fail and a pkm got above 36, you need to set it free. -all pokemon at 37 or higher need to be set free ASAP - no evolution line can be used twice. So you don't store a bunch of lvl36 charizards or whatever. -no items in battle allowed - held items allowed of course What i hope for this to bring to the table: The player has to manage smart attacking. Diversity in the strategies. The player has to pre- think: what evo- line will i have to use for late battles and which on the way. This concept was mostly thought to be a countrarie idea to the 1 pkm walkthrough which mostly end by lvl.100 and little to no diversity on the way and i thought this could go better.
Perhaps it takes a long time for Arcanine to speed up? High top speed but low acceleration. That or "speed" is more about how nimble/agile the pokemon is. Like Arcanine might be able to run a straight line at 250mph, but a cheetah can only slow down by ~6mph per stride, each stride being ~20 feet which would mean it takes ~150 to ~200 feet to stop/turn around. In fact cheetahs are one of the best animals at slowing down from max speed so an arcanine would go 600 to 800 feet (180m to 240m) past his target if he missed at max speed. I don't know if you know, but missing once and being 3 neighborhoods away isn't good for hitting your enemy multiple times. A jinx only has to sidestep like 5 feet like a bull fighter and the arcanine would be 1/10th of a mile away or, assuming this is in a gym, probably splattered on a wall after hitting it at 200 miles per hour.
I am impressed over the result, though it did not surprise me. Level grinding is key to win stuff like this. What I really would like to see is that if someone manage to beat a pokemon game with tactic over grinding: - 6 pokemon in party - Combination level of maximum 100 (meaning max level is 16/17) (meaning no level gain after level 16/17) - Only beat Elite 4. - No item in battle or glitches allowed to use. I recommend Soul Silver/Heart Gold as you can get a great team there and Elite 4 is semi low level. I belive everything is possible to setup using a randomizer.
Either Clair failed the test by being an awful person or the old guy made up a joke test we couldn't fail so we could get the badge because she was being such a brat not giving us the badge we earned. She somehow couldn't accept us beating her? Bad gym leader honestly, I don't like her for this.

On the topic of speed stats, I assume that's more a measure of reaction time and maneuverability then raw speed, so jynx can react and/or dodge out of the way faster than arcanine, who can run at high speeds but presumably cannot turn well at those speeds, and thus can't really use said speed in the close-ranged high maneuverability combat that pokemon battles are usually shown to be, with the lack of said maneuverability in-game mostly coming from game mechanics and balance more than anything else
How do you change the starter Pokemon to be what you choose? I haven't played Pokemon in forever but I wanna go back to gen one , two and three with unique starters like you

Ground actually does neutral damage to Venusaur because it's not effective on grass but super effective on poison. Nice run nonetheless!

Unown is actually one of the few pokemon names they translated into swedish. The name they came up with was okänd which is unknown In Swedish
