This is so “Classic Jay Ward” with the same Jay Ward humor with the same cast and crew of “Rocky & Bullwinkle”. It’s so wonderful to see this wonderfully bizarre classic.
One of my favorite episodes! Hans really enjoys playing the Ouija board with Ursula Andress, who looks stunningly beautiful here, her hair & dress are absolutely timeless and she's one of the most beautiful woman in the world. The "Consumers Bureau Report" is super hilarious (love Hans Conried, Paul Frees, June Foray & Bill Scott, what versatile voices they have!). In "The Day Of Destiny" skit it's interesting to see the date of September 10 displayed. Jay Ward and his cronies are simply amazing. And what great writers they had (some of the shows the writers later created and or wrote for (in addition to all of the other classic Jay Ward shows) include "The Munsters", "Get Smart", "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "Rhoda", "Lou Grant", "Barney Miller" and "My Mother The Car" which was so bad it was recalled (just kidding, actually I like that show). Thanks for posting Mitch Diamond, you're a gem!
@@toastnjam7384 Well it was "reviled" forever and when I finally saw some episodes it wasn't nearly as bad as they had said. If that show debuted in the 1970s it would have been re-called.
This show was rerun on KTLA channel 5 in L.A. in 1974-75 on Friday nights at 11:30. Just loved it. I hunted down the DVD complete set when I learned it was available. Timeless stuff!
For a ten year old kid coming across this on the TV was wonderful. Also nice because the more you know about the silent film era the more you get it. This was the place, in 1963, I became aware of George Melies and his famous "Trip to the Moon."
I never watched this show when I was a kid in the 60's. It wasn't until in my teens in the early 70's I watched it when it was on reruns on KTLA Channel 5, Los Angeles, CA. Great humor!
Thank you for loading Fractured Flickers. I had never heard of it until I saw it on the "Movies" channel and then researched it and found it on your channel. I really like that silly show !! Thanks again 😂
I loved this when I was a kid. Wish we could find the first one, the send-up of Barrymore's silent "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." To this day, I still find myself remembering the scene where Hyde beats a guy to death with his cane, while singing "Double chonklit seltzer, double chonklit seltzer ... it's GOOOOOOD!" ;)
Wow. Hans Conried was the best host in his time especially Fractured Flickers. His voice would have been suited for King Stefan if the test audience decides that Taylor Holmes should just voice the herald and only do the singing role in Sleeping Beauty. In my opinion, the worst mistake in Sleeping Beauty is that he got replaced by Taylor Holmes for the voice role of King Stefan which resulted in a mystery as to who voiced the herald, which is why I give Sleeping Beauty in between C or D grade as it could have done better. Also, it would have been cool for the Three Stooges to be in Fractured Flickers which they never did.
I remember watching this program as a 5 year old, and laughing but not understanding the humor.... seeing it now, I have the following comments: 1. The show seemed to be ahead of its time - some of the skits were actually pretty racy. 2. The very beautiful guest star Ursula Andress could fracture my flicker any time!!
Serious question. Did this show give people the impression that silent film looked “jerky”? (Showing a film shot at 16 frames per second played back at 24 frames per second) Or was this a common thing with silent films when they were shown on TV in the 60s? And how often were silent era films played on tv back in the 1960s beyond this show?

She's incredibly beautiful here. So, you're the one person who liked My Mother the Car.😀😀

The good ol' days when a half hour show lasted 25 and a half minutes.
Haven't seen this in 50+ years!
Ain't the internet great?
I remember watching this show with my brother and Dad late-nights in the 70's. Still funny. Hans Conried has a great way of acting with his voice.
I forgot all about this program. Loved it as a little kid.
This is like an issue of Mad magazine come to life. Thanks for posting =^)
It's Jay Ward and his cohorts - father of Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Nice to see portions of old Mack Sennett, Roscoe Arbuckle, Ben Turpin, Snub Pollard, and Buster Keaton comedies in this series.
Yep, I'm another childhood Fractured Flickers fan. Loved Hans Conried!
Hans Conried played on I Love Lucy, the Lucy show, and I remembered he played on Alice. He's very funny.

Judge Crater was a real life judge who disappeared mysteriously in 1930.

When Gene Autry owned Golden West Broadcasting and there was a 14 foot fiberglass Bullwinkle on Sunset Strip.

Moose and Squirrel.
Fractured Flickers is way ahead of its time. It looks and sounds like when you do a Honest Trailer for silent films.
I was four when this was on - and LOVED it.
Good show. Thanks for putting these up.I just learned about this show from the mention on Sventoonie.I can't believe I never heard of it before
This show is one of the best things my Dad shared with me from his childhood.
OMG I loved this show!!! 8 years old but still got a lot of the jokes.

Me too. It comes on Sunday Morning's on the Movie channel. I never heard of it until now. I like it too!
When I was a kid I used to watch this show... loved every crazy minute of it.
The spirit of the abridged series runs deep.
Thoroughly enjoying this a friend pointed me in this direction
thanks
I Loved this Show when I was a Little Kid. - JPGold out.
I still do.
This was on when I was a kid, about 8 or 9. We never missed it. My dad and I would die laughing.
Watched this every week as a kid. The films wouldn't be even half as hilarious without Paul Frees' narrative. Hans was the perfect host for this.
Hans Conried was a genius voice actor all over radio.
This show was an influence for MST3K, so...respect. Also, I used to watch it as a 5 year old in Long Beach back in 1962!!
Thanks for posting. Great memories.
I remember this!
Hopelessly corny, but when this show connected, it could be hilarious. My mom and I used to howl with laughter at some of the bits.

Can't miss that voice of Paul Frees.
"Hardware Wars" never fails to warm my heart. What a great era to be a teen.

I heard about this from reading the June Foray entry on Wikipedia. I don't know how I could never have heard of this earlier.
