Went to Sir Edmund Hillary OPC as a 15 year old in 2001.. explored the same areas as shown, we however did not have the weather issues.. was one of the best experiences ive had, still to this day. Amazing people, amazing programmes and opportunities to be challenged as a young adult..
This was an extremely unfortunate tragedy..

i WENT TO THIS CAMP IN 1972 AND LOVED IT. IM DEEPLY SORRY ABOUT THE TRAGIC ACCIDENT IN 2008.

When I was 12 during our School camp in 1992 our Teacher took us for a hike and lead us into some bee hives! We all got stung and a boy died because he was allergic. Worst day of my life!

These kids die but others whom I am sure you can think of live on ? The absence of evidence is pretty good evidence of absence in this case,.
@@AsFewFalseThingsAsPossible if god and all them are real there is a pretty good reason we haven't seen them in years, which from what I know the last time there was an interaction with god was before the Romans killed Jesus. At least that is up to my knowledge. But you don't gotta come in here and say stuff like "they ain't going to heaven because it's not real" just let people believe what they wanna believe without you going in and telling them it's not real

Lena Patas it hits really fast, people don't realise how fast it narrows an pressures up kinda thing, they made us do it in the army for "fun" it was terrifying plus I got stuck had to basically break a rib to get through, I was a little tubby😔

I went to OPC in 2015 I was 15 years old at the time. I was a year ten and I remember my instructor took us to a place where there’s a little zip line we were waiting for her to get the gears we needed and my friends seen a rock with those students on it, I didn’t think much on it because I never knew what actually happened, and it said in loving memory and around that rock was little gravestones with there names on it and when she told us the story about what happened she almost started crying. I never understood why. Today I watched the movie and it was really hard for me to watch because the part where they died I remember walking across with friends and holding my teachers hands I remember my group of friends and another group of our school were walking pass each other on that exact part and I had no clue what truly happened. My heart goes out to those families that lost there kids there school xx and I hope that this never happens ever again ❣️❣️

Matthew Sanchez A lot of schools do, it's a education course but in this case something went wrong. HOEC has now kept up with all the safety requirements as I went there this year

I went on this camp and my instructor said that Jodie the instructor incharge of the kids and teacher had done everything she could to help them out it wasn't her fault.
No she didn’t.....she could’ve said she wasn’t trained for the journey

The principal of Elim college, "It's almost like god takes the best..." What a stupid thing to say. It was the Gung Ho approach to safety and lack of proper training and planning by the Outdoor Pursuits Centre that was directly responsible.

Poor Tara, her mother is such a bitter old woman. She said Jodie wasn't held accountable. She's held accountable every day via memories, she has to remember the screams, she has to remember them going over, she has to remember things she won't have talked about. What Tara's mum forgets is she had a father as well & she needs to remember how she treated him in her hate.
