Hi Mary :) I wanted to ask what was your way to be a dental student? Yk like what was the journey, I want to be an orthodontist and I have 20 years already and it's my second year doing a bachelor's degree in Biology but in one of ur videos I saw that u have 20 too ^^ and already studying in a dental school, I just wanted to know if you needed to do a bd or what where the requirements cuz I just realized I might be doing something wrong with my choice of studies 😅 (I'm sorry, there might be some errors in my writing since English is not my mother language) btw this place is so pretty ❤
hi! my case is a little different because i didn't have to do an undergrad before dental school. however, many of my classmates have a similar background as you and did a 3-4 years bachelor's in biochem, neuroscience... it's normal!! it also differs between countries, so if you did your research it should be ok :)) hope that helps
Woah that's what I wanted, to go direct and study the profession I want but here I need that, to do an undergrad in science lol but I'm fine with it tho, I hope your studies go well ^^
hi marwa! i knew i wanted to work in health care, and i just thought dentistry was the best fit for my qualities! (+ it's basically an expensive art school and i also love art haha) hope that helps :))
@@mary-go-round Thank you for answering! I also love art and I’ve always heard that dentistry was kind of a major that is like art but you make money from it. So that’s why I was thinking about pursuing dentistry.
@@marwa-200 hmmm so far what i like the most is how hands-on dent school is, even in your first year you'll be learning a lot of practical skills. i'd say the biggest downside is how costly dent school is... lol. the instruments are *very* expensive, and on top of that there's tuition, so it's definitely something to consider. there's also back/neck pain that'll come with this job...eventually :') art: we do a lot of sculpting (either with wax or dental materials). you overall need to be meticulous and pay a lot of attention to detail. nimble fingers/hands is a plus, but you definitely improve with practice! hope that helps!! if you have any other questions feel free to dm me @mryr0o on ig :))

Hi Mary, what made you realise you wanted to be a dental student? I’m thinking about becoming a dental student too, but i’m not sure.

@@mary-go-roundTwo last questions! What do you like about your major and what are the downsides? And what makes dentistry so art like?
