I am an old man. I rode a Ruckus for six years and I loved it. A bit slow, but where am I going? I drove thru rural roads and snowmobile trails in Oregon in the Summertime. I bought one for my wife too, but she didn't ride it much....her back hurt. But we are not kids. I traded my Rucki in on an RV. I don't have the RV anymore and I miss my Rucki. (The plural of Ruckus.)
I have no problems with drum brakes. So simple compared to disc brakes. And just how much brakes do you need on a 35 mph scooter? I also love the fact that the Ruckus is still carbureted. But there is one big problem I have with it. Having once owned a 2007 Metropolitan, which had a load capacity of 270 pounds, and since I weigh 240 pounds, it worked fine. But for some reason, the Ruckus has a load capacity of around 220 pounds, which means I'm too heavy for it. Any reason why the Ruckus has such a low load capacity compared to the first generation Metropolitan, which had the same engine, and supposedly the same frame?
Wide Open Throttle thanks! That’s our goal, open and HONEST reviews of our bikes. There is no such thing as a perfect machine, so we try and make sure people can find out the good and the bad about them. Was checking out your vids, cool stuff by the way!
Thank you very much for stopping by my channel! Appreciate the support and positive criticism...I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more vids from you! Happy new year!

Your never to old for a new set of Rucki
you mentioned the beefy tires, what is the offroad capabilities of these little machines if any?
Light trail riding, with some roller tuning to pump the low end up it would be a little better. These are more so off road “inspired”
I get mine up 40 on flats .
I have a couple of performances mods but still stock engine.
What mods did you get?

Great rundown of the bike.

I know the ruckus ... you gave a great breakdown ... especially letting the viewers know how crucial tire pressure is. 👍
