Justification is that Sweetheart would have really gone into a spiral after failing to get Hero, keeping Captain Spaceboy, and not creating a perfect clone of her she is satisfied with, so now she really thinks the world is out to get her and she is in such a state her emotions shift so cartoonishly rapidly. Conveniently, this also puts her gimmick opposite Space Ex-Husband’s gimmick of needing to evoke emotion to do regular damage.
