Everyone has things that for some reason are not worn, for example, sweaters. Still quite decent, but something is not right. Maybe the silhouette is outdated or boring.
Such a thing is easy to change, and the ways to remake it are as follows: sew a pillow, socks, make a bed for animals. Blankets made from several sweaters are warm and beautiful. You can also turn a sweater into a vest and combine it with other fabrics.
Another option: turn a sweater into a Chanel-style jacket by cutting it in the middle. This classic option is always in fashion.
For sewing, you can use not only women's, but also men's sweaters. The peculiarity of the model is the finishing around the edges. It can be the same color as the thing itself, or another, even multi-colored; you can also use fur for this.
Other features of the model are a straight cut, pockets and a short length.
It's easy to practice sewing on a sweater, and now I'll show you how I do it:
1) First, I shortened the sweater to such a length that it was 5-10 cm below the waist.
2) I cut off the length of the sleeves, you can make three quarters.
3) Cut off the neck.
4) Cut the sweater in the middle. I cut out pockets from the cut pieces.
5) All corners were slightly rounded.
6) I laid a stitch along the neck line so that it would not stretch.
7) I made a roll for a loop from a strip of fabric. I cut it out on the bias; the peculiarity of the roll is that it turns out to be as hard as a cord, thanks to its allowances.
8) To finish the edges you will need bias tape. It can be knitwear, viscose, silk, basically whatever you like.
9) I basted the binding to the jacket from the wrong side, stitched it and turned it right side out.
10) I turned it 1 cm and basted it. On rounded corners, I reduced the length of the basting stitches and adjusted the binding itself. After that I stitched.
11) I applied bias tape to the bottom of the sleeves.
12) I did the same on the pockets.
13) I sewed on pockets and a button.
Ready!
A few simple steps - and a completely different thing appeared.
