funny they gave it even more, I was sold when it was the jacket Chun had picked out. That was a fun scene. 6's story is so weird because almost nothing happens in it as it's all basically reacting to the terrorist thing that happened before the game, but if you play the arcades, and the world tour, and get each character's bond up, there's actually a fairly large amount of character development peppered throughout. The reason the Blanka Chan costume is a let down but Luke's SF5 outfit is fine is that Blanka Chan is literally in the game already, it appears in story mode & you can put it on your avatar. Granted it looks slightly different but it still comes off as disappointing that they gave it to him again so soon.
Also, Luke's isn't 'just' a do-over. It's his classic costume. It's actually a little weird that it wasn't already his costume 2 and his costume 3 would be what we currently have as his costume 2. Presumably this is because of Luke's weird existence as an SF6 character 'first' who was put into sf5 as a preview of some sort. The headband Ryu has on his head is actually called a 「手拭い/てぬぐい」 (tie-nuu-goo-ee). I get why people say that it’s disappointing, but to me they’ve gotten it out-of-the-way. This is not something they can fall back on later. It’s the same way I feel about how people were complaining about most of the roster being the original world Warriors. Gives the game more room to grow in the future.
Variety is the spice of life. I think they leaned into that actually as a lot of the costumes seem deliberately designed to sort of fill out the characters' wardrobes rather than just being other cool fighting outfits. It's a lot of casual outfits or situational looks. You don't have to just cosplay Chun-li now, you can assemble her whole wardrobe (or start to, give them a few more costumes if this stays their guiding principle)
While I'm pretty sure they won't even be close to the TMNT costs cause that was almost definitely licensing, I agree. This is my biggest fear right now. I'm with Max that 20 would be great, but that's also less then a dollar and a half per costume, so 25 I could accept. 30 I'd start getting pretty salty but I couldn't blame them as that's still less than 2 bucks a costume which is not an unreasonable ask for a single costume nowadays. Anything over 30 though I don't know how I'll respond. I've got money, but at some point spending the price of a game on costumes becomes dumb.
@@KaleRylan rightly so. With inflation and basically everything going on at the moment. I wouldn’t even buy the damn game with how they are pricing those costumes at $10 a piece. You could buy a REAL costume with all that money. Hell if they keep going you could buy a nice suit and tie, have it tailored, have gas money, and money for a steak dinner before having all those costumes.
@@RoboShinKen Yeah, I decided to wait on MK1 because I was enjoying SF6 and there are so many fighting games out/coming out that I knew decisions would need to be made (tekken, GBFVR, etc, etc) and that's looking more and more like I dodged a bullet. If this is the level of costume design we can expect from this iteration of Street Fighter, i actually dont have any issue with any character they add. It's actually exciting to get new characters now just to see what new outfits they'll get.
Ngl yo…this only gives MORE reasons to for me love Chun Li. This is the type of alternate outfit that I like. LOOK AT HER HAIR. The outfit looks like something out of a action movie.
Ken be like: *_“Shine on, DOODS!”_*
9:56 That Owen Wilson "Wow" together with the Taco Bell sfx basically broke me lmao.
I love jamie, juri, and jp's amazing. i like how relaxed jp's and juri are. If i played juri the pj costume would be the reason I would play her its so funny. The big outfit change from there old fits gives them so much more personality. I dont like what they did to ken though
I don’t like metrosexual Ken either. And that hair is not even what Max’s hair looks like.
I get why people say that it’s disappointing, but to me they’ve gotten it out-of-the-way. This is not something they can fall back on later. It’s the same way I feel about how people were complaining about most of the roster being the original world Warriors. Gives the game more room to grow in the future.
We need a JP in PJs.
"Hipster sushi chef"

I actually think the Marissa skin looks great! Surprised to hear him say otherwise. And this game does allot for SFV Luke.
Luke is the face of sf now.. of course they invest more on him
He doesn't dislike it, he just thinks it's worse than the concept art for that same costume. Which I agree with.
@@FaceJP24 Same, and for the exact reasons he mentions. It doesn't seem to flow in quite the same way.
@KaleRylan but it looks great to me
That was absolute best freeze frame of Ken/Owen Wilson I've ever seen.
Kimberly reminds me of 80s Storm. Great stuff
11:11 "Here's my hope: $20 for everything"
Nope, sorry, best we can do is $100
Yeah, skins alone make this game look SO different in a good way. It's like a fresh new weird breath of fresh air
DJ looks like he raided Liberace's closet lol
Wonder how much they will be priced? I love them all truly but don’t want to be price gouged.
I always have to ask if my money could’ve been spent on something else and grant me just the same amount of happiness. Usually it’s yes.
But anyway, I’m hoping it’s NOTHING like MK1.
Maybe when the goty edition drops at some point if it just has everything.
"God Ken looks stupid"
- the dude who looks exactly like the new Ken outfit
Honestly all the costumes look dope, I'll get the costume pack and season 1 fighters pass for xmas for myself for sure. Love Manon and Chun Li's
Ken’s outfit is from the movie Future Cops.
Im so happy to be a lily main right now! 🙌🙌
Designer: "I'll Make Ken look just like my favorite streamer, Max, as an homage."
Max: "wow, Ken looks stupid!"
I think ryu outfit is what chun li chose for him in the history cutscene
I just realized its been almost a year since outfit 3 💀
There's usually some trash outfits in these "everyone gets a costume" drops and tbh, I don't think there are any bad outfits in here. All of them are really damn good.
Guile's outfit reminded me of that American boy from Rival Schools
I have a weird feeling that the Ken costume is from that Chinese movie of street fighter which is a such a dumb fun movie. Lol😂
It was actually a Hong Kong movie, but yeah.
The way Kim's hair looks, they really got cloth physics and sheeit down on this games
The devs puts so much love into these! I read the devs blog about each costume and its inspiration, read it if you wanna know the reason behind everything 😂❤ cammy SF2 movie reference was brilliant! Ryu getting the jacket that chun li bought for him is cute 😂😂❤❤ also the artist said chun also had tight pants so it was a change to give her baggy pants this time! Its a fantastic read on each character
Remember back in the SF4 Arcade Edition where a full set of costume for 30+ characters only costed between 5$ - 10$?
Ryu is wearing the clothes chun-Li helped him pick out.😊 The Lord!
Ryu actually looks like he´s from Streets now
Gief main here, I love that costume!
Almost all of these costumes appeared in character's WTM art.
And you'd know that, if you'd played WTM, Max!
$20 for all of the costumes combined would be _extremely_ generous, given how Capcom prices their cosmetics. I'm expecting them to be closer to $5 each, possibly cheaper as part of a bundle.
Sf5 costume was 8$ each
Max just seems like a cool cat.
All he had to do was give Pajama Juri a 10 and he did so props 💪
Huge props, especially considering he's not a big fan of the character
Is her onesie playing into some fetish no one's mentioning, or something? Cause yeah it looks good, but I don't get where everyone's creaming their jeans over it
She's barefoot which is what Juri-lovers go gaga for.@@Eidlones
@@kennethbryant5819 Yeah but she was already barefoot. So why is this different
Ken looks like if Shinsuke Nakamura was a blonde white dude
My first SF game and ig I picked a good time to get into the series lol. This game is crazy fun and, while I understand its been an age and a half for people who played since launch, im very excited for these new costumes. I got the deluxe edition for the characters but I didnt understand the value that the costumes would bring or else id have gotten the next tier 😂 Super pumped to be a new fan after MK for so long
An an MK fan, I am feeling the same, but for Tekken 8)
@@gordonfreeman9733 cant say I feel too much for tekken but that was also SF before friday so 😂
A neat detail some have pointed out that I didn’t see is that when Gief has steam shooting from his nose, his glasses actually fog up
Lily looks SO much like talim from Soulcalibur i love it, everything about Chef Ryu makes me happy, just hope they fix the price
that echoing Owen Wilson Wow at 9:56 killed me
all outfit looks so great!! and some of it seems better than a mod lol
Blanka-chan looks uninspired.
@@nujevad28 Yeah, that shoulda been an extra novelty, with something new and unique as his DLC outfit 3
@@nujevad28 yeah capcom did some rehash with blanka-chan but...I think the other things are great.
I love that every characters first 3 costumes are either their "classic", "training", or "casual" outfits. Makes for a great baseline for any future skins.
Marisa's outfit is literally the concept art.
Things change between 2d and 3d, so Max has a point. You can be fine with the changes or not, that's on you, but it does not look identical. A.K.I. is another one that is quite different in 3d from what her concept art looked like.
I think in the art her legs are closer together, which makes it look very dress-like. I thought it was a traditional flowing dress originally as well.
Still looks good of course.
Just like gief and jp's
@@ArchflipYeah, I still think it looks good. I think they all look good, but I don't think it's quite AS good as it looked in the concept art.
Not the end of the world.
I think the fact that she wears pants kinda ruins it. Having big buff Marisa with a more elegant and feminine dress would’ve been a welcome change.
We all know that the Ken costume is basically the max we see in the Intro of every video 😂
Isn't that the outfit Ryu was wearing in a cutscene where you train with him?
Zangief's costume looks like Mayor Cody's costume from SF Duel.
Hope you feel better max 💯💯💯
It’s been almost a year since we got new outfits 😢
I need to see max play ken with an owen willson voice mod. Wow!
THANKS for being the only streamer asking for Ryu to have his (already iconic) beard back! 🙏🙏🙏
I'm glad we're getting JP's story outfit.
But overall, all of these outfits are cool.
Fun fact: Luke's SFV design is actually his second design as it was made after they've established the SF6 one
Where did you hear this? My own theory is that this was going to be his original design in SF6 but Luke's appearance got so much flak when he was first introduced in 5 that I bet Capcom went back to SF6 and toned down his looks. Just my theory tho.
I personally prefer his SF5 looks a lot.
@@fearhunger3983 It was confirmed multiple times by Capcom themselves. Even the early screenshots we got of SF6’s development show SF6 Luke at a point before Ryu & Chun had their new designs implemented.
Max suddenly paused for a long time and is in disbelief when it came to rating KEN "Maximilian" Masters. 🤣 His reaction was a timeless classic.
Honestly I love these outfits. It gives a completely different feel and look to the characters
I’m not even a Luke player and I can’t stand for the insane Disrespwct he received in the video😂😂😂😂 Max absolutely violated him!!
They look great, but here we are 7 months later and they’re still $5 a pop. Fuck. That.
Im gonna start maining Ryu just for the costume
Guile, Manon, JP, Lily and chun li all look amazing. And Kimberly man that’s gotta be my favorite and I don’t even play her lol. Might be one of my favorite fighting game costumes ever
