    Aye its a bone ground that area. Once spent a day from the point to behind the house. Having few chucks at each mark. Walk back to the car was alot less weight on my back 😂😂

    • @zulcronsports
      @zulcronsports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was 40lb sea knight manster w8 with 100lb shock leader. It’s normally solid! In this session it must of been time for it to be recycled lol

    Good video pal 👍 just want to pick your brains about something.. I've always used multiplyer but last week a mate of mine gifted me a penn spinfisher v11.. only time I've used a fixed spool is for spinning 😁 anyway first chuck 4lb ray, second chuck two rays about 6lb each on a pennel 👍 third chuck it felt like a crack off🫣 fourth chuck it went out about twenty yards and the braid is doubled through the rings👀my mate said its filled with j braid about 60 lb and a 80lb mono leader..any advice im listening.. like a chipanzee with a deckchair 😂

    • @zulcronsports
      @zulcronsports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Soooo… I personally don’t use a mono shockleader, I use 100lb braid as my “shock leader” however braid doesn’t have any absorption properties but I do feel like you can tie a better knot, braid to braid. And it does take a while getting used to casting with the no stretch.

    • @harwoodblades3633
      @harwoodblades3633 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zulcronsports cheers pal..I'll give the braid leader a go 👍tried braid straight through yesterday and no issues 😁 think a braid leader for security and a bit of practice is called for..feels weird but I'll get the hang of it 👍 thanks again.. much appreciated

  • @arniec5707
    @arniec5707 ปีที่แล้ว

    As always a great watch mate 👍 well done 🎣🎣 have you ever tried the dongle for the cod ?

    • @zulcronsports
      @zulcronsports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks arnie! I’m reluctant to use the dongle for cod…. Reason being, dongles are designed to lip hook fish. I prefer cod (especially the big ones) to be deep hooked when fishing over the rough ground and cliffs. When they’re lip hooked you seem to lose them, cods mouths are soft and only get harder the further down the throat they get. So prefer the hook hold to be deep. Of course no good for catch and release but I keep most of my size cod as they don’t go to waste, family, neighbours etc. you get me?

    • @arniec5707
      @arniec5707 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate the reply 👍 I'm with you mate 😉 I'll keep that rig for the Ray's 👍

  • @bertbasset8961
    @bertbasset8961 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey buddy is that the 300 g zulcron rod your using? I have been hearing good things about them and I'm looking for something decent but not costing me to much and on the lighter side without sacrificing the power,, btw you should sack the shock leader stuff fish heavy braid right through to your rig it really ruins the marks bits of shock leader all over the place you can still cast 100 yards with 0.50 braid if needed but you fish the rock marks where you very rarely need to go further than 50 yards ,, cheers 👍

    • @zulcronsports
      @zulcronsports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can’t say too much about this rod just yet it’s a prototype I’ve been testing haha! But yes the 300g XT is a beast!!! Maybe look at the XT or XT Lite! Both fantastic bits of kit. Yep you raise a fantastic point about the shock leaders in the rough! Will get some sorted just need another spare spool soon

    Another cracking video mate as usual looked hard work but still a couple fish for the work, just a quick question do you prefer using cart wings or cart sticks and how do you use your cart sticks ie in finger bandage, tights, or some other way?

    • @zulcronsports
      @zulcronsports  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks matey 💪 don’t have a preference between the two, had just as many fish on sticks as I have wings. I just use the sticks bareback in nothing. The way they’re made off joe Morrison allows me to do this. They do go soft towards they end of the session tho

    Hey fella, your line snapping at the tip is bit strange. Worth checking for hairline fracture in tip lining? Real annoying losing full cast of line. Lookinf forward to more vids. Cheers

    • @zulcronsports
      @zulcronsports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah checked my rings, must of been a little bit of a Nick in the line. Bit annoying but hopefully it doesn’t happen again! Line stripped and new line on

    • @bertbasset8961
      @bertbasset8961 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's more than annoying mate ,, no need for shock leaders in rock marks in the first place heavy braid right through to your rig 80 to 100lb you can still cast 100 yards with 0.50 braid if you need to but fishing hard ground rock marks you rarely need to go further than 50 yards keep the marks clean without bits of shock leader all over,, cheers 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    • @zulcronsports
      @zulcronsports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello mate, depends the ground I’m fishing over but no less than 30lb braid on the cliffs. If it’s mixed to rough ground it’ll be 40 or 50lb all with 100lb braid shock leader
