ABOUT US ► DK Pittsburgh Sports is the proud, pioneering, fully independent venture begun in 2014 by award-winning columnist Dejan Kovacevic and featuring a professional staff covering the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates year-round and everywhere they go! This is where it all started!
Puljujärvi is the guy who was the MVP of the most epic U20 year (also the 1st in points). It was the year of players like Mikko Rantanen, Auston Matthews, Patrik Laine, Zach Werensky, Sebastian Aho, Alexander Nylander, Matthew Tkachuk etc
I'd like to see him healthy because the guy is full of potential. Now he made a hattrick in the first game of this season (practice game), I hope it was the changing aspect for him.
I have him on 3rd line with Lars and Valtteri.
Assuming Dubas doesn't pick up some team's waiver wire fodder like he did with Harkins last year, the final spot for the bottom 6 will be between Puljujarvi and Puustinen:
DOC-Crosby-Rust
Bunting-Malkin-Rakell
Beauvillier-Hayes-Puljujarvi/Puustinen
Lizotte-Eller-Acciari
The bottom 6 is all interchangeable, since they are all 4th line players at this stage of their careers.
Quick Geno question, do you see his role on the PP getting tinkered with much this upcoming season? He’s far too skilled to not be on the PP1 but I’m curious to see what changes are done to the first unit going into the season and him and Karlson n particular didn’t seem to gel well based on the games I saw.
Thank you again for answering my question on the goaltending the other week by the way
I work with athletes and have for the past 25+ years, as a strength and conditioning coach and the last 14 years on the therapy side. Work with NHLers, MLBers, NFLers...and one strength coach I work closely with who has worked with Norris trophy winners.....we constantly talk about the rise of hip related surgeries in hockey. This is a completely due to poor strength and conditioning and rehabilitative approaches used in sports today by most. There is no reason these injuries should be happening, its a failure on the sports medicine side of things
Sprong with a 1yr deal to Vancouver just shy of 1M. I would have taken him back at that contract and see if he cant be part if a deal at the deadline.
I thought the Pullijarvi move was a prototypical Dubas move....take a flyer on a guy who can't make it with another team in hopes of him blossoming into something and it being an analytical win (low salary for high productive player)........I also thought it was a bad move...money wasted on a guy that will not contribute at the NHL level....is a scratch player at best

Replying lmao to a comment that isn't funny. You want approval so bad
What the heck do you know what he thinks or feels. Keep your projections to yourself bud. Randoms just come on to chirp other people. Get a life man
