Why did they disbanded?
MissMoonBunny They are just formed from a survival competition called Produce 101, where the winners will only promote from a period of time, then will go back to their respective agencies or groups after their promotion have ended. They promoted for only 10 months, the shortest among the all produce groups has formed yet, they became one of the most popular groups during their promotions which is from the years 2016-2017. Now almost most of the members have their own different groups now, with 2-3 being solo artists. Check out their individual groups they are all amazing. Pristin on the other hand just had disbanded last year.

Looking back, IOI was totally national girl group material. They are very different but pull off that good feeling SNSD brought to us. Too bad they were never a long term project to save the day.
I honestly felt the same way. If they had become a permanent group, they would have become very popular. It’s upsetting how popular they were together but 2 groups have already disbanded (Gugudan and Pristin), Weki Meki is super underrated, WJSN is going through stuff, I have no idea what Sohye is up to with her acting career. Honestly Chungha and Somi are probably the most successful two of the group.

I loved I.O.I so so soo much. they were so popular and had such unique members + everyone had their different talents and charms. it's so sad that they were just temporary, I mean it's clear that they'd be as big as Twice, Blackpink and Red Velvet. they'd be on top of the new generation!
it's just so sad, they're doing well in their current groups (or Chungha on her own), but c'mon you can't deny that they'd be so much better in I.O.I and tbh I'm not sure if they can become as popular as I.O.I on their own, but we'll see and I hope they'll achieve a lot
