I am an ex surfer, did stuff like this, and it works. Specially the two last ones. If you ever go swimming try this: 25m sprint without breathing, same time you needed for the 25m less 5 seconds for recovery, and again. While you sprint you are also learning how to relax in full effort

Man i love you! Can't get enough of your videos. Very helpful tips. I do similar breathing exercises to increase my lungs capacity for speargun diving, witch is very physically demanding activity, similar to kick boxing. These exercises are called stillness or high-carbon breathing exercises and they are difficult like hell. The fact that you use them shows professionalism, open minded and very focused to your goals. Keep up the good work!

I have a problem figuring out how to breathe. I went to a pulmonologist today, and he told me to expand my stomach as I'm inhaling. But for some reason when I am inhaling through my nose, my chest is expanding and my stomach is moving back towards my spine.
If you can do a breathing video to show how you're breathing through your stomach, diaphragm, mouth, nostril so that we can see the movement of the breath, that would be super helpful!

    • @GabrielVargaOfficial
      @GabrielVargaOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Being able to catch your breathe and control your breathing isn't easy but it will improve in time. Stay diligent with your routine and know small progression is the key.
I'd say doing this 3-4 times per week is good. Make sure you are also doing exercise where you put in at least 30 minutes 3-4 times per week.
      I hope this helps.

This is great, I'm going to have to try these. I have some other ones that I do already, but these are cool variations. You should try doing breath holding CO2 tables for a training camp. Working on building CO2 tolerance can really up your cardio even if you're a cardio machine already and haven't been training CO2 tolerance. The exhale and jumping jacks is a CO2 tolerance drill.
I do controlled deep breaths for jumping jacks. 5 jumping jacks in breath, 5 out breath. Sets of 20. Maintain as long as I can, then do one set of 4in/out when I can't hold 5 anymore. I started doing the same with keeping core flexed after watching one of your videos on conditioning for body strikes... it's much harder

I do this twice per week post run.
It's more of a breathing quality focus.

I do some different variations of breath exercises as part of my daily warm-up for workouts. Focusing on breath helps me focus on what my goals and plan are for the upcoming session.

It seems like they are used a lot.
I know surfers use them as well. Got to stay safe when a wave flips you around.

Your cardio is good because of your ability to maximize oxygen, not because you breathe well. You should delete this. Sorry.

I know that. But I still like working these drills.
I've been doing them for years. Would I be fight ready only doing these drills.
Absolutely not! They are just .01% importance of the training I put in.
But I still find them beneficial.
