Stay strong! You are loved more than you know! Even someone like me, who has never met you, cares. My mom is now gone, but she used to always say when times were tough, "this, too, shall pass." She was right, and I actually say it out loud to myself now when I need to hear it.
Just to let you in the context: the song was originally inspired by an actual experience in Tyler’s life, as he said in the interview: “I had a friend of mine whose son passed away and they would keep his room the same way that he had left it. I remember thinking how crazy powerful a story that is, and how it makes me wonder, like, ‘What will people do with my stuff?’ It can actually bring you back down to earth, make sure that you don’t make any horrible decisions.” Tyler places himself in the shoes of his friend’s son and imagines how his loved ones would react to his own death, whether the life he lived was something worth keeping on display or something his family would “redecorate.” He takes a stand against keeping his “room” messy-a metaphor for the things in his personal life that need “cleaning up”-rather than continuing to allow regrets to build up in his life.
I honestly have to mentally prepare myself before I listen to this song, because it absolutely DESTROYS me! Tyler wrote this song in honor of a friend of his who lost their child, and decided to keep their child's room exactly as it was in rememberance of them. It's a reminder to try and do the best you can with the life you have right now, so that you can leave something good behind.... This band, man. 😭
Found your channel a few days ago and have watched every Twenty One Pilots video. You're filled with so much energy, and it transfers through the screen. I love your reactions! Can't wait for more.
It’s a really hard choice to keep on display or redecorate. When my guy passed I left things on his nightstand for a year. I redecorated his bathroom. Then felt sad for not doing it while he was here to enjoy. Enjoyed your reaction
I love your reaction! This song made me cry when I heard it! It's bittersweet that the lyrics in the official video are handwritten by Tyler himself :)
The music is so amazing that it almost takes away from the super deep meaning of the song. The choice of whether or not to redecorate a loved one’s room when they leave us is such a hard decision to make💔 This song really does tee us up for what’s to come in Clancy!
I JUST LOVE YOUR WAY OF LOVING THEM. ❤😅 they really do the most beautiful things to music.. though this song is just so deep for how it finishes this masterpiece. It's hard to wrap up this album. 😪
I m glad she listened to this song high and could just enjoy it sonically first before fully grasping the meaning … It takes on a much different weight once you understand what it’s really about 😢
This song made me cry so much when it came out, because, yes. I instantly found myself and my husband in this one, very difficult when facing your own mortality. Still makes me cry almost every time. But it also keeps me going... |-/
I use this song as a reminder of why I'm still here. Because I don't want to make my friends and family make those decisions.
I sincerely hope it's not the only reason, but if it is, use it that way and keep staying! I get it though. ❤

Push on through, @matta344. Think of Oldies Station too. ❤
Your life matters, YOU matter. 💗💗💗

“i repeat, scaled back and isolated” - scaled and icy
I was just going to write that it is literally/figuratively the name of the album! Lol!
