Right, the states of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas sure had tall mountains in movies that I’ve never seen w/my own eyes in those states.

Because you have no point of reference with that generation. I remember my great grandfather, a very small and skinny man who was a rancher without much of a crew, so he was genuine Texas cowboy stock. I was about 5 the first time I saw a man who was 6 ft tall, and I have a very large family, about 20 pairs of aunts and uncles, including both my parents siblings. That was in the mid 50's. He had to dodge the living room light fixture.
Anyway, those cowboys were truly tough as nails.
