I agree with that. This is a part from the same "Messe solennelle en l'honneur de Sainte-Cécile" by Gounod, but is not very famous, in contrast to the Sanctus. I've seen/heard the complete Mass several times in concert and I have a few recordings. It's one of the most beautiful Masses I know. But especially this Benedictus touches me every time.
@@jerryveen I have just listened to the whole Mass for the first time on TH-cam and there was some debate about "a twist at the end" of the performance I listened to concerning Napoleon 111. Please can you enlighten me? Was this not part of Gounod's orginal composition?
