The Silver dome went after the auto industry started leaving. It really never made a big difference for the town. As with many older cities, infrastructure improvements didn't keep up with the changing times, education was geared to the auto industry, but so we're other cities. The future of these cities are not lost. Everyone of them is connected by history, and an Inner State Highway
X. Actually, there's one cafe to hang out in. It's called The Alley Cat. It's on Saginaw between Huron and Pike Street. I used to hang there and draw. Not much of anything else, though.
Check this out... Sadly, no one likes a so-called 'whistle blower' As a parent I am dealing with this right now. I visited my son's high school practice and the head coach was repetitively playing uncensored mixes of gangster rap by Tupac, NWA, Ice Cube, Snoop Doggy Dog, etc. for the team to workout to inside of Pontiac High School in Michigan. This blew my mind. After the practice I sent the head coach an email asking him will he please play the clean mixes instead of the uncensored at the practices in this public high school setting. The reply I got from the head coach was that I was no longer welcome to visit the practices that my son was participating in. The Athletic Director, the school principal and the school board members treat me like I'm the bad guy for bringing it to their attention up the chain of command. The head coach is still in position. My son spoke up; now my son is suspended for the entire season. My son was an undefeated state champion last season, is an academic All-American, and has a 3.7 gpa. My son and I have NEVER had or caused any documented or undocumented physical or verbal altercation with anyone at the school. People can/should call Pontiac High School in Michigan and ask them what is going on with the head coach that plays uncensored gangster rap full throttle volume in the public school practices for rhe student-athletes to workout to? And what happened to the student-athlete & parent that spoke up via email to the coach, Athletic Director, and school board members, and superintendent?
