    Congratulations with all my envy !!! I'm 59 and I'm from Colombia and I've seen him 7 times since 2002. I believe I enjoy Beatles music more than anybody in this world. It surprises me that I can listen, for example I'm Looking Through You 20 times in a row and I never get tired of that. Its been that way since I was 11 and they brought happiness to my life. Hugs

    I saw Paul McCartney in concert when I was a senior in High School. I listened to him do rehearsals the day before his tour opened in America. It was in Ft. Worth, Tx.
    My friend and I got a picture and chased his car down the freeway from Ft. Worth to Husrst, TX. He got off at the exit in Hurst and the next day I read in the Fort worth Star Telegram that he had bought a horse in Hurtst! It was anAppaloosa that Linda loved to ride. Linda was also in the car with Paul. She got his attention to notice us screaming in the car and he waved. Best graduation present!

    A great story, well told!! You rock-for the fact that the Beatles' cartoons were your gateway and that you glommed onto "Anna" as an early favorite song lol. That's a fan! I was two years old when they broke into the U.S. on Sullivan, but was a Beatles' fan by the time I was 4/5. So I watched those cartoons in re-runs--yeah, they were cheaply made, but the character design/caricatures and the way they captured their personalities were spot on! I own a set of those now-rare Beatles cartoon maquettes, which sit on a bookshelf. Anyway, your story really touched me, McCartney is so cool. Glad to say I saw him live in the '90s.

    John wasn't a horrible person. He was a flawed person who shared some dark things about himself. He definitely should have treated Julian better. Congrats on meeting Paul. I've been a Beatles fan since the 90s and haven't been to any of his shows. I think that's going to end up being a regret in life.

    • @ianh1984
      @ianh1984 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@chrisgross2043 I agree. Sean was treated much better in those 5 years... but none of us remember our first 5 year clearly. Julian was neglected all throughout his childhood. I'd like to think that John would have done better for both of his kids in the 80s, but that possibility was taken away. John had a lot of flaws, but he was a human capable of improving. That was taken away from him in 1980.

    • @spooley
      @spooley หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Watch recent interviews with Julian, he is not bitter or resentful. He tells great stories of the good times he had with John. He was on hiking with Kevin Nelson podcast and told of John asking him if he wanted any particular gift, Julian said a motorcycle. His dad said it will not make your mom happy but came through with the goods. John's upbringing is where it starts, being torn between his own parents and losing his mother very young shaped him in a way only he understood. He was getting better though.

    I feel a kinship with her cause, in 1993, when I was just 10 years old, I too became a huge Beatles fan. Mine had to do with hearing a song of theirs for the first time playing on the radio. The song was Ob-la-di-Ob-la-da. And when the radio played the song again, I asked my mom if she knew what the song was. She didn't know the title, but she knew who sang it. She told me it was The Beatles. And then, she proceeded to tell me about them.
    She was just 7 years old when she started listening to them back in 1964. She had a Hard Days Night record and that's when I got to see what they looked like. She also had the red double cassette collection as well. So at 10 years old, I was hooked on their music. Fast-Forward to 29 years later, I got to see Paul McCartney live in concert. He actually came to my neighboring town of Spokane Washington and I had to fight like hell online to get a ticket to see him. But it was worth it. I had the most fun that night. He and Ringo, (whom I've seen perform twice previously in the very same city) are the best concerts I've ever been too. I've always wished I could meet them. But, despite that, I do feel more than blessed that I got to at least see them perform live.

A fan since 2/9/1964, got to see Ringo's AllStars (Oldies themselves) and yes we were an older crowd, but active and a lot of younger people in Santa Barbara's County Bowl...Paul is known by younger people because of his Band on the Run/Wings thing and continues production of new music. Great story. You sound like a young me. I saw The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show on November 9th, 1964 six months before my 7th birthday.
    They were like aliens to my little brain, their look and the music. I became a Beatles nut right there, had to have all of their records after that. Bubble gum cards, magazines, posters, joined The Beatles official fan club. September of 64 I got to see them live at The Civic Arena in Pittsburgh for my seventh birthday. 12,500 fans, mostly teen girls screaming their lungs out. Couldn't hear much of anything but just to see them and experience Beatlemania first hand is something you never forget.
    You had to experience Beatlemania first hand to know how crazy it was.
    I can't believe you said "Anna" (Go To Him). That song is incredible. John's vocals and Paul and George's harmonies are off the hook.
    I remember a Beatles worst song poll about 20 years ago and "Anna" was voted the #1 worst song. I was like what the F**k kinda nonsense is that?
    You and I are on the same wave length on that one, killer track.
    Might be the best track on the "Please Please Me" Lp.
    "Twist And Shout" is incredible, one take, John had a cold, last track after 12 hour marathon 10 track session. He only had one take in him and as he said "My voice was shot so I just screamed the bloody thing out". One take, what you hear on that track is The Beatles live. George Martin went to his grave saying that he believed it was the single greatest track ever laid down on a piece of plastic. He would say "One take, live, the gteatest track ever laid down on a piece of plastic" I agree George.
    Between 63 and 64 the greatest cover band on the planet.
    Their cover's on "With The Beatles" are crazy great.
    I too young lady met a Beatle. 1995, Pittsburgh, Ringo and his All Starr Band.
    He always had famous musicians from other bands and they would all do like three numbers and at the end of the evening he would come out from behind the drums and do like a half dozen Beatle and solo songs. We were like four or five rows from the stage. I was at the end seat right next to the center aisle. I had on my official Beatles ball cap. When the Beatles "Anthology" CD's came out there was a little booklet of items you could order. I got the black cap with the green Apple on the front and it said The Beatles on it. Between songs I walked up like 10 feet from the stage and flung my hat up and it landed like 3 feet from Ringo.
    He looked at it, looked at me, bent over and picked it up, looked at and said "Anthology". Put it on his head and broke into " With A Little Help From My Friends". After the song he looked at me and said come up and get your cap.
    I got to go to the front of the stage and he handed me my cap and said "Anthology" you must be a big fan. Do you have the old records? I said all of them, Lp's and 45's including two Butcher Covers.
    He said wow you're a serious collector I don't even have one.
    I said yes I am and I also saw The Beatles at the Civic Arena like 5 minutes from here in September of 64 for my 7th birthday and the only time you guys were here. He said so many shows you can't remember them all, but you were there so I must have been there. I got him good, I said no Jimmy Nichol was on drums, you were having your tonsils out. He got the joke and said no, we were in Europe and then met up with the band in Australia. I know, just joking Ringo.
    He liked that.
    (If you don't know, look up drummer Jimmy Nichol).
    I always carried a gold marker with me at concerts you never know. Go to the bus after the show and maybe catch them coming out. In 74 I saw Queen at the Civic Arena. I had a copy of their Lp Queen 11 with me. After the show we scrambled to find their bus.
    We waited a long time eventually caught all four of them and I got all four to sign my Lp.
    Anyways, back to Ringo. I asked him to sign my hat and he was glad to. Signed Ringo Starr Peace and drew the famous Star above the Apple logo. I thanked him and thought what the hell and said Ringo could you sign The Beatles Rock on the side of my cap and Ringo. I couldn't believe it when he said You're a super fan, sure. He signed it just like that. He was great, very funny guy. When he handed it back he said is there anything else like a cup of tea and laughed and i shot right back no, but a coffee would be nice. He started laughing and said you're good, that sounds like something John would have shot back with. That hit me "Something John would say" like wow, he just implied that I was quick with a wise ass response like John. It was surreal, that hit me to be mentioned with John. What an experience to meet him, he was great and funny. I shook his hand and returned to my seat and that's my meeting a Beatles story. I really enjoyed your story. I've seen a lot of U Tube videos of Paul bringing up fans at every show and signing just about everything. He's cool.
    I saw him in Pittsburgh in 2014.
    George in 1973 on his Dark Horse tour.
    Never saw John, he never did a tour before his death.
    I'm gonna subscribe and see if you have any Beatles stories in the future. I really enjoyed this.
    Peace ❤

    I am older. I owned Kingston Trio albums that my parrent bought for me. The first record I ever bought with m own money was a 45rpm record A Summer Song by Chad and Jeremy. THese two guys were part of the British in vasion too. My uncle took me to see A Hard Days Night at the Movies. That movie changed everything in my life concerning musical taste. I Should Have Know Better was my favorite Beatle song when I left the theatre that day. A little later in life after buying the Hard Days Night Album, If I Fell became my favorite Beatles song.

    I saw Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band at what was then, The Uncas Pavilion, at Mohegan Sun, in 2001. Two years later, I was at a Q&A at the Fest For Beatles Fans, with none other than Pete Best. He was there to promote his book, "The Beatles: The True Beginnings". Afterwards, I got met him and take a photo.

    That's a really cool story, I try not to idolise any celebrities, because at the end of the day, they're just human, but Paul Mccartney is just different, you know? I don't know how I'd react if I saw him, he's flesh and blood like the rest of us, but it would be so hard not to just be in awe, he's a living legend, he and the rest of The Beatles literally changed the world in so many different ways I don't know how I could possibly just have a normal interaction with him without bringing up how his music changed my life (Which I'm absolutely sure he's heard many, many times)

    I just found your video and am watching it but paused for a sec. You can believe me or not but I am a distant cousin of George. I just turned 63 and grew up loving The Beatles. I remember watching them on Ed Sullivan in 1964 when I was 3 and a half years old. I remember watching the cartoon's when they were on TV before I started school. My brother started bringing their records home in the early 70's and I listened to them over and over and learned to sing all the main vocals and harmonies. I live in Northwest Arkansas and by accident or destiny I went to a local library in October of 1997 and checked out a book about them. While reading it I learned George's mother's maiden name was French. I called my brother and said "I just read that George's mom's last name was French. Wouldn't it be cool if we were related?" We knew our family came from the UK years before, I think in 1973 when my uncle did an ancestry research. So my brother started doing more research. George's sister Louise Harrison who just passed away recently had a tribute band called Liverpool Legends and they were based in Branson, Missouri just an hour and a half away from us. But he got in touch with her and met her at a show they were doing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They had been communicating by the Internet and she knew we were cousins. I think that was around 2002 or maybe 2004. I was in a really bad marriage and had a lot of other things on my mind. Anyway he told me she agreed we were indeed cousins. I started corresponding with her and she invited me and my now ex wife to come to Branson and meet her and attend one of the show's. She came to our hotel room before the show and even planned to let me get on stage with the band and give my ex a rose because I had told her I was trying to save my marriage. After the show she came back and we sat in my room and drank a few beers and talked for almost 2 hours. There are 3 people I know who can testify I did that and of course the theater was packed but I don't know who all was there but after the show I was doing selfies with people and signing autographs. I have been a singer songwriter almost my whole life as was my Father but I never made it big time though I had a chance but turned it down. And I have never tried to make money because I am related. I have Beatles stuff everywhere in my apartment including some old records. So nice to see you love them as much as I do and yes you are reading from a relative right now if you read this. I know a couple of other direct family members who live in the states but out of respect for their privacy I won't mention their name's. One is on my Facebook friends list as well as one of Paul's relatives. One thing Louise asked me to do was to carry on the mantra of saying "peace and love." So ☮️❤️ to you!!!

I love watching videos of Ringo playing on rain and hello goodbye and the new now and then video, I've been a Beatles fan since 1990 when my dad was recording songs off the radio on the 10th anniversary of John's death. a year later my dad started buying Beatles tapes. I was 15 and am now 48. in june of 1993 I recorded a concert Paul did in Charlotte, NC. I live an hour from Charlotte but couldn't afford to go see him. it was the first time a Beatle did a concert in Charlotte. when the Beatles came to America in 1964 Charlotte wanted them to do a concert but they couldn't afford them so 29 years later Paul came and sang some Beatles songs during that concert. in 2020 my dad bought me the rubber soul and revolver vinyl records.

    I was totally with you until you said John was a horrible person. Wow, quite a judgement for someone who's never even met him. Highly doubt Paul would agree. Yes, we've all heard the stories about his selfish acts in his youth. But he grew & learned from his mistakes & was becoming quite a fine man when he was struck down. And I am a 67-yr-old lifelong Beatles fan. but clueless as to what things Ringo has done to deserve your ire. I'm happy you fulfilled your dream we should all be so lucky. But perhaps do a bit more research & try to have more compassion for what others go thru & how they overcome their own flaws.

      I don't hate John Lennon or Ringo Starr. I am allowed to respect people less because of the things they've done and the choices they've made. If he'd had time I'm sure he would have learned and grown even more, but I don't know why specifically Beatles fans expect everyone to kiss the ground they walk/walked on. I am allowed to criticize and hold judgment towards them. It's not just these two classic rock stars that did unfortunate things it's MOST rock stars from this era. You all come out to bat so hard for these guys, why can't you accept the fact that they weren't gods and are not immune to judgment?

    • @GjpgrD
      @GjpgrD หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jaelaray No one said they're gods. In fact, I clearly stated that John made a lot of mistakes in his life. But how would you like your entire life to be judged on the worst thing you ever did, especially when you were young & stupid? No one who knew him has ever said that he was a "horrible person." Certainly not Cynthia or Julian or any of his coworkers or friends. It just felt like a very blunt, harsh, unfair thing to say about a guy who grew up without his parents & whose life was cut short before he could make amends to those he treated badly. Julian has said that they were finally getting close at the end. I'm sure John's experience with Sean opened his heart to his first child, who was born when he hadn't a clue how to be a good father because he never had one. Maybe as you get older, you might reconsider how & why humans behave as they do. Even why so many from my generation feel protective toward the legacy of those who've had such a deep impact on our souls. You weren't around when we lost JFK & how the Beatles brought such joy to a nation in dire grief. Then losing John the same way, who spent most of his life fighting for peace in the world - you can't possibly know at all what it was like. Like no "celebrity" death before or since. He's not just a "dead rock star" to us. All I'm asking is for you to think about it.
