As a person from DeSoto around this time I'd say that the 2017-18 A Team seventh graders from DeSoto West was the second best team in like the past 5 years. The first best team from my knowledge would be the 2015-16 A Team eighth graders. I'm nonbiased because I came from a different DeSoto West graduating class, but i they were amazing games almost high school varsity tier. Some of the middle school athletes perform regional school football, and the others perform cross country practices with like 1 or 2 school meet days. After the football seasons over, both groups of students get to tryout for basketball team. For example, Johntay Cook played wide receiver football, and Cameron Barnes played cross country. During the football season these 2017-18 seventh graders won all recorded games, and now there's a flag in the gym to commemorating the school year success. In the end, this team was legendary, and its gonna be hard to find someone better than them.
