    I recently hired a late 23 plate (newest model) Corsa 6 speed manual 100hp with cruise control. It had only 260 miles on it it and I drove 800 miles in 4 days. Mostly motorway, but plenty of city driving too. It was a joy to drive, I was so impressed. Effortless on the motorways, comfortable seats and quiet for a small car. Power was great and the gearing was perfect. I never liked Vauxhalls, but I would honestly buy this car without hesitation.

    I had one of these as an insurance courtesy car after I had an accident. I have to say the 1.2t 100 was shockingly nippy for a 100 horsepower car. It was way quicker than my fiesta eco boost 100 at the time. 0-60 was impressive for what it was.

    Hi Richard, thanks for a very informative and useful review. I now have my new Corsa which is virtually the same as the one you reviewed although it's the Ultimate model, so all singing all dancing. So far i can't fault it and am happy with my choice. Your very detailed review was a real help. I just wonder if they would ever be able to integrate a larger RPM counter into the digital driving display. It would be nice to see and probably something that perhaps a future firmware update could include. Fingers crossed.

    Your reviews are great. It’s nice to see a review that is basically my car. Would like to see this up against the mini. For stop start you have to have it is neutral and with the parking brake on. It will then activate if the battery has a high enough voltage

    • @asprintablet
      @asprintablet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a corsa with the stop start and it won't trigger without the car being warm enough, climate control not on to hot/cold and quite a few other things. I have had my car for 3 months and I have been in neutral trying to trigger the stop start but the light just flashes as I haven't achieved all the correct conditions.

    • @thomaswalker1258
      @thomaswalker1258 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@asprintablet sounds like there might be a fault as I have had it triggered sitting at a temporary set of traffic lights just 2 minutes from my house and the car hadn’t warmed up but it still worked. Climate control shouldn’t affect it as when the car turns off the fan speed significantly drops to save battery

    • @bertramclement6702
      @bertramclement6702 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve got the ultimate and mine has moments where for a couple weeks it might not work but then it starts working again, very strange. Also find you don’t need the parking brake up for it to work either, think all corsa owners have this issue. All in all it’s probably for the best the car doesn’t use stop start in periods it seems unnecessary.

    Quite good car for its price and class,it seems that it drives very well minus the weird throttle and suprisingly quiet, but i dont like the other brand new Opel/Vauxhall cars after they had been bought by PSA/Stellantis. I liked it when they were with GM much more,i also heard the engines and overall quality were better with GM and after being bought by PSA it went down the drain. I own a 2010 Opel Astra (H) wagon with 1.7 diesel-its suprisingly good car for its class and price and is incredibly nice,fun and easy to drive! You could feel the cheapness at some points,specially the rear seats (which are honestly quite spacious) but i can forgive it for how the car drives. I personally liked the Corsa D and E better than this brand new generation in terms of overall aesthetics, but my favorite is the Astra K and pre-facelift Insignia B,they both look gorgeous and i would love to try them at some point. Thanks for the review,i always enjoy them! :D ;) P.S. I also dont understand the "excluding auto models" ,its kinda mind boggling to me why they did that... its like they dont like automatics and secretely want people to buy only manuals or electrics :D

    This is the trim I opted for, when the car turned up, i had a manual handbrake and no stop start button. questioned why these were missed. was informed it was a parts issue and the car would not be retro fitted either. Huge disappointment. With the arm rest out its hard to use the manual handbrake. It does look odd in what suppose to be the top of line trim. When I had the car in for a few issues I was given a courtesy car which was a lower trim and guess what released the same time and had both stop/start and electric brake. Soon as my lease it up I am going to another provider. I feel misold and cheated

    I really like my turbo elite corsa, I have one of the last elite models and mine is a 22 plate. Some of the features you are showing arent on the '22 plated turbo elite, I don't have keyless start and my a/c controls (unless I'm in the settings) are fully manual - not on screen at all.
    The reversing camera is amazing, I didn't realise how much I use it until I had to repark my Mums Corsa and it was so hard to just rely on the mirrors - and of course she has an old fashioned handbrake so I had to remember to release it.
    I have had my car since June and I have still not been able to get my car's stop start to actually trigger, I have the light flash but it just doesn't trigger - which means I just haven't got my climate control settings correct for it.The high-beam assist is very fun when driving country roads at night.
    Living in Scotland we have 70 speed limit signs and using the sign recognition you can set the speed limiter using the mem button. The road sign reading feature can be extra sensitive and it often picks up those little signs on the back of vans and lorries - so I have seen it saying it has read a 90 sign.
    The lane positioning assistant is weird, as it does steer you back to the lane you are in - so you need to remember to indicate earlier than you think.
    The high-beam assist is very fun when driving country roads at night.
    Just realised how long this comment is. I really liked the video, I think it really shows the car off well.

    Not a problem in the UK, but the petrol manual (presumably the non turbo) struggles at speed on the German autobahn. Above around 85mph it "feels fast" (unlike say the 1l ford fiesta, which is relatively settled) and the power really tapers off. It's somewhat unstable and doesn't even particularly want to get to 160kph (100mph), which is somewhat of a disappointment. It's fiiine really but I wouldn't pick it out amongst it's competitors

    Amazing stuff! It's an odd business move to penalise customers for choosing auto by removing some of the features. I can understand how, perhaps, technologically a transmission may not work with adaptive cruise control or something, but why take the heated steering wheel? Anyway, I think it's just a tactic to #savemanuals. 😂

    I understand the benefits of matrix lights meaning you can leave your car on highbeam, but I've found riding a motorcycle, for whatever reason I still get blinded by a lot of these cars and have to flash them to let them know. I realise its hard to know which cars have these but 9/10 the cars have been new fancy models. Curious to your thoughts and if you've had any experiences with motorcyclists?

    Id want analog dials but higher spec, and a key start non that key less rubbish what happens flat battery you locked out, mt car has key dead battery i can use a key to open car. someone did mention to me they do make a special seat for people bad back but cannot remember what was said so that alone not knowing would stop me buying this car as every car from this brand ive been in i never had / been in so much pain, nearly as bad spine operation, been in vectra from early 2000 right up to last gen corsa and astra and they all gave me loads un necessary pain from the seats a reason i don't have one and when looking for car like i am currently i do not even think of this brand, had the last gen corsa on test while my car was getting fixed, 1.2 sport spec auto it was changing down and holding gears really daft it had more power and for torque than the car what getting fixed a fiesta 1.4tdci 70bhp 120nm and with that just put foot hard down it still pull away no need o change down but this one 1.2 auto when for a lane change on a duel it dropped to 4th and refused to change back up till at top very slight climb, i gave up being nice, it had 2000 miles on clock so brand new lots red line for sure if it wanted to be daft at stupid changes what not necessary i abuse it more, one stage doing a pass normal amount gas to bild speed i was passing another car very slowly at 5k rpm it not change up on a duel i had some really odd looks car making hell noise. so id say never get auto in 1.2 . maybe in a diesel with more torque but test first, and to do manual change the button was in back of the car it was so far back so useless. prob next car be another i20, it has all the kit i want, the space is good and my current i20 first gen it been faultless for the last 4 and bit years of ownership and clean MOT pass each time and maintenance very affordable, tires £60 each and disks and pads inc fitting £60 a corner , back box £120, clutch id did manage 100k was £500 but that inc fitting a service and a MOT so very good price all in. that all i spent i 4 and bit years and i knew clutch prob needed doing at some point as was bit weak when i got it but lasted me over 4 years but was hoping it last out till i found the right car but impressed me so much im prob going for same engine 1.2 manual 2 gen up so think current shape, it is that or the last gen small kia but with same 1.2 as did see one the other day space might be an issue as small car but min curb weight is 850kg very good and my current car min curb weight 1045kg to just under 1.1 ton with tank fuel so that small kia prob bit fun and goes well, current car seen vids on autobahn should do 120mph out 1.2 so more than enough to get in to trouble on uk roads and around 12 sec to 60 don't mind never had issue getting up to speed, 2nd gear 50 plus mph if i need to use more gear goes well, much better than i thought before i test drive it. and new i20 the seat nearly fold flat what be good for my week or two road trip around Scotland as it will be accommodation for at least every other day. atm flick through 1000's cars and very few stand out very few more i want older they get, and got to buy if new i20 a 2015 plate as 2016 plus tax goes from 35£ to £150 so better of find low miles 2015 and get most lower tax before it start to climb as it will

    Low profile tyres are hell on B country backlanes, a real boneshaker. Difficult to get in and out of, impossible to know where you are in gear 1,2,3 ... as if learning to drive again. Six speed box on something that is hardly going to go over 70mph is plain stupid. I struggle endlessly in the dark to know where/ how the fck to put in the ign key. I CAN NOT hear the engine, apart from a crappy digital bar graph rev counter I've no idea what the fck i'm doing. Very poor digital displays. No provision whatsoever for older / faiing eyesight. Constantly I don't know what I'm doing or where I am in the powertrain. Verdict .... designed by total disassociated wankers. Mine is the Elite Edn 1.2 turbo. Just bought it, want to change it. Poor cabin light, obscured forward vision, puny weak horn, very little heat on my feet. Go figure ...

    Awful car. I had the unfortunate choice of the 1.2 turbo GS line today as a company car. What a chore to drive, the cabin ergonomics are laughable, the whole car is made out of cornflake packets, indicators don't cancel, auto wipers wipe even when it's not raining. It's got a bit of poke but it's really uncomfortable to drive, it isn't poised, crashes over bumps even with the standard wheels, the interior is very tacky, cheap and badly made. I feel sorry for anyone who's parted with money for a current Corsa.

      Totally agree 😂 Sadly one of those people and boy do I regret it. I think the visibility is my most hated feature - those a pillars, wow Vauxhall. The amount of times I’ve nearly pulled out on vehicles even as big as a bus and not seen them. And no - it’s not because I’m a bad driver, the blind spots are terrible on anything more than a slightly off-angle junction. Cannot wait to get rid of it. Not knocking the drive, it pull like a beast and it’s comfy but in my mind it’s a very dangerous design.
