  • Kedarnath is a sacred town nestled amidst the majestic peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India. Renowned as one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites, Kedarnath is home to the Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most revered shrines of Lord Shiva.
Located at an elevation of 3,583 meters (11,755 ft), Kedarnath is known for its picturesque setting and its spiritual significance.
The Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is believed to be one of the oldest Shiva temples in India.
The temple is part of the Chota Char Dham Yatra, a pilgrimage circuit that includes four sacred Hindu temples in Uttarakhand.
Kedarnath experiences harsh climatic conditions, and the temple is open for pilgrims only during the summer months, typically from late April to early November.
The journey to Kedarnath is a challenging one, involving a trek through the Himalayas, but the experience is considered to be a life-changing pilgrimage for devout Hindus.
