    This is great pal. As always, nobody has documented this type of disassembly and your pace and level of detail is what’s needed. Keep plowing ahead ✊🏼

    Happy to see you back! It would be cool if you could post a schematic of your own designed wireing loom for the people who also want to move the fusebox

    Awesome to see you back. I love your shop, mine will be completed spring 2018. Both of my Alfas are in desperate need of work and a new spacious shop will make it so much easier. I'm torn between a 2 post like yours or four post lift, maybe both? I wish! Thanks again for your videos and sharing your knowledge.

    JB-thanks for posting. I'd missed these as I have two GTVs; one needing a minor refresh and one needing everything

    Hi Jethro, I love these video's. I'm planning on rebuilding my Alfa 75 one day, so it's nice tot follow this process. When you're going to strip the body to bare metal, you might want to check out "soda blasting". Seems like a really neat way to strip paint and body filler. Also, if you're looking for parts, Alfaholics in the UK has some awesome stuff for 105 series Alfa Romeo's. Looking forward to the next episode!

    Memories....we welded together a steering-wheel puller to get the wheel off my Spider, which was sitting for 7 years... ;)

    • @JethroBronner
      @JethroBronner  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Martin Smarda Yeah they can get crazy tight. I’m going to make a custom puller to get this off.

    Great video series! May I ask what Is the clear plastic sheeting taped onto the inside of the doors underneath the panels? Is that something you made? Thank you!

    • @JethroBronner
      @JethroBronner  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh it's just some plastic sheeting I stuck to the door cards to keep moisture off of them.

    Hey Jethro! Love watching your videos, thanks for sharing all your knowledge. I have a question about my 1979 Alfa spider. Do you know what the right range for a compression test would be? Also I’m looking for a speedometer in kilometres, do you know where I could find one? I’m located in Vancouver, BC Canada. Thanks in advance for the help!

    • @JethroBronner
      @JethroBronner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The important thing for a compression test is that the readings are consistent across all the cylinders, like no more than 10% difference. You wouldn't want any cylinders at less than 120 psi, and about 160 psi is a good number.

    Would you not save the old loom to use as a pattern for the new one? Are you going to mock-up a new loom on a piece of plywood? Jay Leno's technician did a job as such with his lotus elan.

    • @JethroBronner
      @JethroBronner  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new loom is going to be very different from the old one, so it’s not much use as a pattern. I’ll make up the new loom as I go along as I’m not entirely sure what the finished electrical system will be just yet.

  • @_zzpza
    @_zzpza 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you're making your own loom, how come you threw away the old one? I would have kept it to use as a template. Looking good otherwise! :)

    • @JethroBronner
      @JethroBronner  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll be making a lot of changes to the electrical system on that car, so the old one isn't really good as a template.

    • @_zzpza
      @_zzpza 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JethroBronner Whilst I hear what you are saying, that doesn't change the distances between the parts you are going to keep. You are now going to have to measure those distances off the car, and ideally make a mock up that you can test fit to check routing, length, and fitment. Sorry, not trying to put you down, just offering advice coming from having made bad decisions in the past. Best of luck. :)
