Beginner's School I haven't. I will look for it and add it to my queue. Funny fact is that I found you through the blog , and I found the blog through a random image on proportions. This video didn't show on my TH-cam searches. You may want to look into that.
I have been searching sculpting tutorials for two years, but got really into it six weeks ago as I enrolled the plastic arts course at college (musician here). Anyway I have an scupting tutorials playlist, have seen dozens of videos (some of them under 1k views and this must be like the 100th I watch, it is really good and I just wonder what is wrong with YT algorithm, as some videos uploaded almost a decade ago from topics I religiously follow are not being showed/suggested to me until now) 🤔🤷🏻♀️🤷🏼♂️
I've long wanted to sculpt faces and busts, and felt I could with some instruction. This makes be feel I really can try it.

I am currently trying to learn how to draw then paint the human face using the Loomis method and I have learnt so much from watching your video so many unanswered question regarding placement and measurements. I found creating the oval in the right shape, proportion, and proper slope is the hardest part, a shame the video doenst cover that at all. Great instruction other than that.

I wonder how you might go about sculpting a face onto a pot or vase... would you do the pot first, have it dry and add the facial features? I'm curious the best way to go about it without it falling apart bc it's hollow

I have a project in mind for a modelling a head.. What kind of board are you modelling the clay on..or what s the best kind to y use for permanency once completed.. I cannot seem to get any response to this question.. Thanks in advance..
The lip line is more likely a third of the way below the nose, not halfway

This isnt self dry clay is it, what is the clay called. Its not drying out as u use it x
This is a really good tutorial, it was easy for me to understand. However, I am 14 and doing this as just a hobby/ past time activity. Is it possible to do this as accurately without the tools?
Absolutely! Hands and fingers are the best tools any artist can have, and you can always make your own tools by experimenting with household objects. Try using things like old toothbrushes, spoons, toothpicks, and pencils. The bristles of a toothbrush can make for interesting textures and the handle can be used to flatten or shape your clay. Spoons can be used to scoop out bits of clay you want removed, and toothpicks and pencils help to create small details. Experiment with different things you have around the house and see what works best for you!

Hello, not sure if you still review these comments but I am wondering how you adhere the face sculpture to the board? Also, is it filled with newspaper or is it all clay? Lastly, if you want this piece to last and dry, which clay do you recommend? I am using self-drying water-based clay, would that work? ! Now with this pandemic, I have a bit more time to work on this! :) Thank you so much for this video

I want to use the face as a mold, but if the clay never dries, how is that possible?
if you have already sculpted what sort of clay did you use? you most likely need a proffesional kiln oven. if you don't have that you might want to research where you can have it baked. otherwise you'll have to use a diffrent clay next time.

"I"m doing a CAUCASIAN male." It's worth at least acknowledging that these are not the features of all males. It would be quite different if it were an Asian, Native American, Black, etc. I've watched so many of these sculpting videos and have not seen ONE single sculpture that wasn't a caucasian male or female ugh - how boring!

Can u do a hitlers face
You can do a likeness of anyone as long as you have good reference photos of that person. Pay close attention to the details of their face and try to recreate that. For example, Hitler has very thin lips, so you wouldn't want to sculpt thick lips for him. He also has some pronounced bags under his eyes--adding those will help with the resemblance. Hope this helps!

Very poor sound quality. Barely audible and what one can hear is very muffled.
It's not great, but it's very audible, and you can hear him. Maybe check your equipment, or your ears.
