Chris, you are one of the best vocalists in this world and I've been privileged to grow up with your music of which in my 30's I still find myself pushing onto others just as I did in my teenage years as kids tend to do with one another.
Stabbing Westward got me through so many rough and painful days when I was younger. I was completely unaware that Chris and Walter were still making music. I think I've found a new favorite band
Can't get enough of this song or this band! Great to see Chris and Walter making music together again. I'll be sending this to every friend I have and wait impatiently for the rest of the album!
I haven't heard a song this good in a really long time. Simple, yet powerful and amazing lyrics. Very cool vocal melodies with a very strong as memorable chorus. Outstanding work guys!
I shared a rehearsal space with Christopher in downtown LA, and I gave him a suit that was previously owned by Peter Gabriel. And in regards to Marilyn Manson, I was in their video for Coma White and I previously directed two music videos featuring former keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gacy for a project that he was featured on with his brother for his band called sickWILLY...Check out the song Break You Down. But Hell Yeah man, I'm a mid to late 90's industrial metal fan. NIN, Manson, White Zombie, Tool, Stabbing Westward, Type O Negative etc.
+Doug Prishpreed haha same here, found it a little funny when i saw he was 50, knew he wasn't twenty but by the looks i thought maybe around 40, but good for him and great song and very good album
Love this song!! So glad to see Chris and the crew still making awesome music, sounds very much like the early ungod and whither blister burn and peel tracks.. Please come visit Australia!! I saw Stabbing Westward in Newcastle in 01!
Thank you so much for this song. My brother shared it with me, and I love it. It is a perfect explanation of what depression is and how to deal with it.
Saw them live a few years ago, and there were only like 20 something people there. Glad they're getting more recognition elsewhere (Germany etc.) They deserve it.
Put on a set of headphones and listen to all their albums. They are much better than the band I knew in the late 90s (Stabbing Westward). Don't get me wrong, SW was a great young band, but this is grown up music. I didn't even find The Dreaming until 2019 and I have more play time on TD than any other band over the last 10 years.
In the same boat here, just now going through all of The Dreaming stuff, so many great songs that really deserved more exposure. That new Stabbing Westward album is incredible. It’s crazy to me how they are getting progressively better with every new thing as that seems pretty rare for rock musicians this late in the game.
I was really surprised to hear this song. I loved Stabbing Westward, but the first Dreaming album felt a little too screamo for me to 100% get into, but this seems to have the soul of SW in it.
Delicious! Hefty portion of Stabbing Westward with a dash of Nine Inch Nails and a pinch of Tool. I love how musicians are like a fine wine and get better with age.
This is an updated version of Ungod. I keep forgetting these guys exist. I was obsessed with them in college only saw them live with their last album live. I liked all their stuff. If they come to my town, I'll give them a go.
cascadehopsrule They're fucking awesome live. Chris said on stage that Rise Again is the album that should have followed Darkest Days. Personally I actually really like Puppet and Etched in Blood is growing on me more and more I give it a chance, but that's what he said, likely due to Walter coming back last year, if I had to guess. They were awesome to meet in person and just hang with and have a few drinks.
This is so cool that you're back with Walter making new music! 'Alone' sounds awesome! Cool video, too - that bathtub in the beginning looks gruesome. I can't wait to hear the rest of the new album. When is it out again?
I didn't realize that Stabbing Westward was back. God I missed these emotional lyrics and riffs!!! Too bad its so damn hard to get all of their CDs even on Amazon. :(
David Korpiewski Try their official site for The Dreaming stuff. Stabbing Westward stuff, however, harder to get. Or, go to a show! They're super cool in person.
wyldeminded Oh, you mean the Dreaming albums. Ok, sorry, my mistake. I think David meant the Stabbing Westward albums. Those are hard to get with even very limited availability on Amazon. I attribute it partially to the falling out of the band with their manager/record company. At the show I went to recently, Chris was saying how some of the stuff you could buy from them would go toward them paying back their old label.
mixing the 20 years of the SW days n bring someone from SW good to be back to almost their original sound which made them famous. Hall has the haunting vox. The Dreaming is leaving off where SW should have went
How does this not have 20 million views? Let alone 200,000????
Probably my favorite. Also this drummer is one of my favorite.
This would've fit perfectly on Stabbing Westward's Darkest Days album, which is one of my favorite albums!
Sound wise yes but not thematically. Probably would have been a b-side
This entire CD is Darkest Days part 2, fucking awesome
Most definitely!
The vocals especially strongly remind me of a stabbing westward song, although I can't think of which.
I was thinking the same thing...
Holy Craps just heard this song today. Dang What An Incredible Band!
This really does feel like a Stabbing Westward song. :} Amazing! Good to see Chris and Walter back together creating amazing music.
not bad
Chris, you are one of the best vocalists in this world and I've been privileged to grow up with your music of which in my 30's I still find myself pushing onto others just as I did in my teenage years as kids tend to do with one another.
just imagine if chris and trent reznor did a song together gives me chills
they would probably scissor each other
@@cascadehopsrule huh?
Haha I got it freaking hilarious
@@charolettekirschbaum6985 wheres the joke?
Congrats to The Dreaming for getting 'Alone' into the TOP TEN in Germany :)
I've always loved that killer voice
I'm so glad Chris is still around. I guess I've been in the closet. I was a huge SW fan. Just found this band. Love you Chris.
A call to all lost souls, there is always a home.
This is easily the best "The Dreaming" song by far. I love it.
Absolutely, positively fantastic. Chris Hall does it again.
I haven't heard a song this good in a really long time. Simple, yet powerful and amazing lyrics. Very cool vocal melodies with a very strong as memorable chorus. Outstanding work guys!
Amazing!!! One of my favorite vocalists :-)
I couldn't agree more. my roommate from years ago his friend was a friend of a friend of the bassist.
+Paul J. V.P. I have a friend of a friend's cousin that once spoke with a guy that saw a house that Marilyn Manson maybe visited in a past life... :)
ZeroTheHero That's cool
+ZeroTheHero I made the huge pink bedspread and pillow for Manson's TAINTED LOVE video...
this has a Stabbing Westward feel to it; but not as dark. it's more of a hopeful sound and lyrics. This is so Chris.
There needs to be a repeat button! Can't wait to see you gents in Chicago.
This song just cannot get any better...quite♡AMAZING!!!
Thank god you guys are still doing music. See you around
I am totally addicted to this song!!!
Chris Hall is 50? He doesn't look a day over 35. Good for him. Killer song.
+Doug Prishpreed haha same here, found it a little funny when i saw he was 50, knew he wasn't twenty but by the looks i thought maybe around 40, but good for him and great song and very good album
I haven't heard any band as true to their roots like this one. Truly resurrecting golden Stabbing Westward style.
Perfect music for Halloween! Love this song!
Love this song!! So glad to see Chris and the crew still making awesome music, sounds very much like the early ungod and whither blister burn and peel tracks.. Please come visit Australia!! I saw Stabbing Westward in Newcastle in 01!
Only two days left before i can enjoy the new album!!!!! Can't wait!! Hoping a Canada tour!!
Never really paid much attention to The Dreaming, despite my love for Stabbing Westward. This is an excellent song.
fuck yes ...going back a little bit to Stabbing westward days ..THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS ..Nice album
Heard the album yesterday. It's staggering.
Best thing Mr hall has done since " darkest days"
Thank you so much for this song. My brother shared it with me, and I love it. It is a perfect explanation of what depression is and how to deal with it.
This song is BADASS

I was so in to SW it was crazy, love that he and some of the SW band got together to make this epic album, cant wait for the next TD album.
Nice! Great video Chris! Can't wait to hear the entire new album,I'm shure it will be a favorite of mine for shure!!!
An intensely killer track with consolation.. Woww!!!!
Another cool tune, Kisses taste like death, Painkiller is a killer it's just badass no doubt about it 🔥🎸🔥💯
Absolutely cannot wait to finally see The Dreaming live and to hear their new material.
Love you guys. Can't wait to see you in San Antonio again.
Been listening to stabbing westward on repeat for exams. Then bored, looked them up on wikipedia and now I am here. No regrets.
Saw them live a few years ago, and there were only like 20 something people there. Glad they're getting more recognition elsewhere (Germany etc.) They deserve it.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR BAND!!!
Love the song can't wait for the new album!
Oh my gods they are channeling Stabbing Westward so hard with this one. I love it.
Such a great song, can't wait until this album comes out!
Love Stabbing Westward. Love The Dreaming. Dreaming Westward, anyone? No? Stab the Dream? What’s a good way to combine both names?
Saw S.W. several times, The Dreaming is coming to my city in June-hope to get to see them too :)
Put on a set of headphones and listen to all their albums. They are much better than the band I knew in the late 90s (Stabbing Westward). WOW! I love the black´n´white video. And ofc,I FREAKING LOVE THE SONG.
The sound of it is amazing! Can´t wait to hear some more! ♥
Great song. Anxiously awaiting a new album.
Such a killer song!
We need a Canadian tour.......seriously!! Québec or Montréal.......... mostly Québec Pleaze!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
I love this song the Dreaming kicks ass alone has a stabbing westward feel like a song that could have been on darkest days.
Been a SW since the mid 90s . I dug the self titled ablum but it was a huge departure. I can dig this!
I was really surprised to hear this song. I loved Stabbing Westward, but the first Dreaming album felt a little too screamo for me to 100% get into, but this seems to have the soul of SW in it.
I've always loved Stabbing Westward, and this sounds likes something off of Darkest Days - something i've always waited for
great sounding band and singer add me as a new fan .
This is such a good song
The Dreaming super👍👍👍👍👍👍
Delicious! Hefty portion of Stabbing Westward with a dash of Nine Inch Nails and a pinch of Tool. I love how musicians are like a fine wine and get better with age.
These beats that SW create are an inspiration in my own music.
Really fucking cool to see Walter in the video! Like we tend to say here up north, I've been waiting for this as I've waited for the moon to rise.
am loving this, this is top draw!!!

This is an updated version of Ungod. I keep forgetting these guys exist. I was obsessed with them in college only saw them live with their last album live. I liked all their stuff. If they come to my town, I'll give them a go.
cascadehopsrule I miss the industrial vibe though

Congrats & major respect - the whole album is as great as the SW-classics!
PS: Time to come to Germany again! I still remember the Killing Joke-tour!

Best song.
This is so cool that you're back with Walter making new music! 'Alone' sounds awesome! Cool video, too - that bathtub in the beginning looks gruesome. I can't wait to hear the rest of the new album. When is it out again?

Love this song. Sounds like an Arabic sound for me.
I came here cuz of Jinxx from Black Veil Brides but damm this band is good. Time to binge all their songs like I did with Stolen Hearts!
Nice, SW is back!
Amazing! I’m the only one alone
David Korpiewski Spotify, dude. I listened to all 3 of their albums on my 4-hour road trip back from home this weekend.
wyldeminded They have 4. I'm curious which 3 you listened to.
EDarien - Etched in Blood (probably my fave)
- Puppet
- Rise Again
That's all that appears on Spotify.
wyldeminded Oh, you mean the Dreaming albums.
Chills. Enough said
Loveee itttt !!!!!
I love this. Has a lot of Ungod in here.
Kick Ass Song!!!
mixing the 20 years of the SW days n bring someone from SW good to be back to almost their original sound which made them famous. Hall has the haunting vox. The Dreaming is leaving off where SW should have went
I LOVE IT!!!!
Not a fan of metal and I’ve heard this song yesterday for the first time and I really loved it
