Overprotectiveness is a risky behavior, too. Children eventually grow up and will be let loose into the full scope of 'the real world.' Being overprotective means this happens without them having enough opportunity to practice self-disciple and self-protection in low-risk situations that the parents have ensured are safe enough.
My parents allowed sleepovers with friend on occasion, but only after meeting the parents. The worst naughtiness that ever happened was we stayed up all night and were useless the next day.

I agree. Even other or older children can sexually abuse kids. I had a client who was raped by her older brother for years. Gross. They were neglected and there was a lot of abuse in their home between the parents.

Wait 1:16, even siblings can't be together at night in a room? So not even siblings can share a room? This level of isolation and avoidance is neurotic. Keeping children so sequestered and cloistered to the point that they can't ever have a sleepover or be alone with their own siblings for any length of time is going to developmentally stunt the child mentally.
KNOW who your children's friends are. Actually KNOW who their parents are, and relax with the helicopter parenting.

This is so true. As a women in her 30s i still suffer from night terrors because of stuff that happened to me at sleepovers 😔 From being sexually abused, to being molested by homosexuals, incest, and being exposed to horror movies and pornography. Nighttime has become a batteling ground since i came into the Lord. Fighting demons and satans arrows of fear and trauma have taken over peace and rest for years. I warn all parents i know now that sleepovers are gateways for future trauma and sleep problems. Dont let the adversary get your children. Mine are still very little and share a room with either me or their dad (we take it in turns) so we can be watchful over them at night. We pray over their beds, their minds, their bodies and spirits so that they won't succumb to the evil that comes out at night. The Lord is a God of Light. Keep your children under His light.

i have a question, are you referring to lori being a dark person? don’t listen her, its not wrong to raise a child within the christianity religion to make friends and have sleep overs; also i personally believe she constantly twists scripture and leads women astray. i went to sleep overs when i was growing up. i personally don’t believe were a set of parents should be too protective of their child or children, that comes across to me as cruel and selfish because that child will have to be taught how to deal with whatever happens to them when their parents aren’t hovered over them while out of their care; just saying!
this is how rumors get started the fact lori believes that every child has gotten sexually abused of some sort while at a sleepover; i never was rapped, touched inapropriately and all what not at a sleep over i went to when i was growing up, not all kids were; my parents knew exactly whom i hung around while growing up so they gave my friends that asked me to come over the ok for me to come over and stay over night. i had friends from church and school my parents knew and met with their parents. most of my friends that went to my schools growing up were from different religions but mostly christian. every single one of my friends parents were strict while i came over to make sure we weren’t getting into something we weren’t supposed to.
i felt i had a normal enough childhood were my friends parents weren’t that extremely strict. as a now adult age woman, its my pet peev were there parents out there that do exist that are extremely overprotective of their child or children, i can’t stand it when hearing a child that’s in society that is too overprotected will eventually possible have mental problems because their parents either never allowed them to explore and learn or believe society is a scary place once they’ve stepped outside the door of their home; just saying. not a fan of brainwashing a child into believing stuff that isn’t true.
i feel blessed to have had parents that allowed me to explore outside their home i grew up in. that’s what helps a person learn the difference between what is right and what is wrong especially what’s ok and what’s not ok. lori is just being delusional.

The corrupted sex ual behavior in children come from the media programming they take in. Disney movies are full of subliminal sexual messaging. Things that you dont notice with your concious mind but your subconconcious sees all and this is then acted out in the concious without knowing where it came from. Why would children who are pure and innocent act in bad ways? Humans are good creatures only a corrupting outer force makes us otherwise.

As sad as it is, it is so true. I did many sleepovers growing up in the late 1960's and 70's, and while I never had a bad experience, I look back on some of the situations and shudder thinking of what could have happened. When I was about 12, I spent the night with a friend I didn't really know that well and her Mom was single and she had a date staying over with her and they were smoking marijuana and drinking. Very dangerous situation with a preteen girl. Anyway, in this day and time, you would have to be so careful.

Its corruption from movies/media. Dis ney movies as an example are full of phalluses and nak ed women in the background. This then speaks to the childs subconcious because the subconcious picks up and ALL information that we see/hear while the concious mind filters out the vast majority of information. This is subliminal messaging, they call it "programming" for a reason you know...
This is all then acted out in the concious mind through actions, actions that the child has no idea where they are coming from. What you are describing is very common. Dont let your children watch "childrens" movies and programming that is a start to fixing the spurious behavior.
