The reverse mountain thing could be explained just by saying "Garp doesn't take shortcuts, where is the fun in that?"
But then Coby is lying to Luffy at the end of Enies Lobby where he said they didn't use Reverse Mountain...
I was sure they retroactively explained it away as trying to keep their ability to move around so easily a secret and thus faked the newspaper article (showing that they had the ability to manipulate the news. I remember worrying about what other things they were trying to keep under wraps and having the news edit out).
Was about to suggest that lol... But it is true they were said not to use R mountain... Though to get around that they could have had to go back a few times.
That, or "Here's a route with some chesthair!"
@@7thlittleleopard7 they do have influence on media but world news big Morgan will have integrity when the story is too juicy to suppress.
Just wait for when we get the full god valley flashback and Garp opens a chest, it has a sword in it, and he does a luffy and starts punching people with the sword.
Honestly thats more funny than anything
That be so much fun 😂 I always love to see any connection between garp and luffy
I was going to comment this 😂😂
There was an episode in Alabasta where Crocodile was lighting up his cigar with 2 hands. His hook just disappeared for 10 seconds
Found it. Its episode 117
yeah I remember that. robin was on his side back then, maybe the extra hand was her magic, lol
Magic? How dare you
Maybe he used his logia powers to heal his hand? Heck, I don't think we've ever actually confirmed he doesn't actually have a hand holding the hook. Maybe he just likes the aesthetic?
@@Kobolds_in_a_trenchcoat that sounds like one of the most Oda things that could happen.
Like there's a door handle on Laugh Tale you'd have to grasp with two hands to get the torque and Crocodile simply goes "Yeah, I have to use both hands." and takes off the hook like it's a basic thing he usually does but we as the audience always missed. And Buggy and Mihawk just stand beside him and it's not even worth a comment.
My favorite was on Water 7, the Mysterious CP9 agent walks by Robin and says, "CP9." The subtitles say it's Blueno. Lol
That Garp and Coby going up reverse mountain was already brought up when Coby and Luffy met in Water 7, Coby said the newspaper was faked because the Navy doesn’t want the Pirates to know about the Sea Prisim Ships
Edit: The episode is 315 at 5:13 mark.
Nothing like that has ever been said.
@@Byvol008 Episode 315 at 5:13
Glad someone already said this. I was not about to look up the episode and timestamp
@@blujman7670 gotchu 🤝 i know my imaginary pirate manga 😂
I also recall this being exactly what coby said.
5:40 I mean to be fair. Garp does seem like the kind of guy who would go up reverse mountain instead of just going through the calm belt
you would say but even coby himself said that he didnt experience reverse mountain because of the navy ships are special in water 7.. that contradicts what happen in the anime which liam points out
garp would not risk the lives of his entire crew just to ride on reverse mountain for fun.
garp is not luffy, garp is a man of rules and regulations , thats why he became a marine in the first place
@@pralayaryanWould it be that much of a risk with Garp on board? I don't think there's much reverse mountain could do that he couldn't save them from.
@@pralayaryan Ah yes, Garp the very well-known rule follower. Always following the rules.
remember that one time anime decide bartolomeo knew about luffy and shanks's relationship
and meanwhile in cover story bartolomeo light shanks's flag
That same cover story also gets animated later, when Shanks straight up says that one of Luffy's subordinates (Bartolomeo is shown) disrespected him (and Bartolomeo is recorded outright shouting "this island now belongs to Luffy-senpai!").
The Hody one is just a ridiculous screw up that I never understood how it's possible.
funnily enough that the first time I've heard of that
@@Thebeautyofediting Same, must have blast past that part in my first and subsequent rewatch to not remember that scene.
Who the hell cares about the story, as long as we get
money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money mon-
I just passed away very unhappy, losing all the money since I can´t take it with me.
There are no good memories.
...
Ok that was quite dramatic but I fear the truth for some people including Toei Commercimation. Fitting name for what I´ve heard but Hey, I´m just a human being
Shit happens. That's the reason it's possible
@@yrusbyou make sense bro i feel it. I see where you coming from
You missed that Robin going into Luffy's crew with a ''Too early new opening "
Seriously. The Japanese version doesn't fuck that up for another 20 episodes
I always liked the way the anime had to take a stab in the dark at Marco’s color scheme and design for his very first appearance and ended up making him look like a schlubby Wallace and Gromit character
The change of the white queen is foreshadowing of how Shepherd would (through incompetence) essentially switch sides in the endgame of that arc.
Jonathan was truly playing 4D chess. . . 😂
I think one big mistake the anime made was showing the "Rocks" pirates. Which were just a bunch of unnamed unknown filler characters stuffed between the big moms and the kaido's
What about Crocodile suddenly holding up a second hand to shield his cigar from blowing out? Last time I checked, he had a hook where his hand should be.
the hook is attached to such a huge "bulge", so some people might think his real hand is inside of it.
Anime Hody: They actually did relatively less cruelty to me. That’s why I hate them- I want more cruelty in my past!
Fukaboshi:huh?
fukaboshi: 🤦🏻
In the English dub of One Piece they had Luffy say his true dream is to be King of the Pirates to Sabo and Ace.
Now THAT is hilarious
Why is that bad?thought luffy always wanted to be pirate king?
@@b0xman935 Yeah but it's not his true dream which he's only shared with Ace, Sabo, Shanks and now his crew. See: manga chapter 1060/anime episode 1088
@@b0xman935He has a true dream that he only told Sabo and Ace and didn’t tell his whole crew till after Wano. We only get peoples reactions, not actually what he says. Ace also mentions it to Yamato and we get Yamato’s reaction. Finding the one piece leads to being the Pirate King, and being the Pirate King leads to whatever his true dream is.
@@dynamite_dynamite5954 Thanks guys but I'm surprised Luffy of all people has plans within plans when he doesn't follow any
I have to nitpick in your nitpicking - Giola wasn't endangering Strawhats life as Eric was, one thing is to murder those who can't defend themselves, another thing is a self-defense move that would grant her acquittal in your pretense trial.
Regarding the Cobymepo picture, remember two separate things, the paper doesn't always tells the truth, so it's normal that marines wouldn't want to reveal that they don't go through the Calm Belt. As for the picture of the afraid Cobymepo, I believe that, at that time, just the mere sight of a Sea King would make them shit themselves.
Third and last nitpick, Zoro wasn't cutting steel chains he was cutting iron chains, like the cannonballs.
Nami only cares about women and children, she's willing to let men save their own lives
Plus didn't Zoro have to stand there a minute to hype himself up to cut them? Not like what he did against Daz.
The Cobymeppo thing with Reverse Mountain was later explained as a lie from the marines to cover up the newly acquired tech from Vegapunk that allowed them to sail through the Calm Belt. It was explained during the post-Enies Lobby mini-arc when Luffy and Coby were hanging out and chatting.
@@7thlittleleopard7 it's true
I'm surprised this one wasn't in the video. There was an episode in Orange Town where the anime let Buggy be a Sith as he "force choked" one of his crew! In the manga, the crew member was covering his neck as he was being choked so you couldn't see Buggy's hand however the anime showed his neck and without Buggy's hand present. This confuses a LOT of new One Piece watchers.
Rob Lucci's beard making clock noises in one of the newest episode
That's not a mistake, that's just a creative choice that the anime added.
That's just funny as shit
You can’t prove that the manga did not have Rob Lucci’s beard making clock noises
I believe there’s also a mistake in the long ring long land filler where chopper consumes more than one rumble ball in a short timeframe and doesn’t lose control of his devil fruit abilities
That's multiple mistakes, as Chopper doesn't even participate in the manga
@@DarkLordArbitur That's not really a mistake in itself, as they deliberately doubled the length of that arc with filler content in the anime.
The double rumble balls certainly count, though.
The filler arc in the Pre-Time skip. With the girl who’s devil fruit was she could talk with animals.
There were mythical creatures called “Celestial Dragons” not sure what there were called in Japanese because I watched the dub in the beginning.
But when the actual celestial dragons were introduced in Sabody I was very confused until I learned the pre time skip arc was filler
You missed the part where they made a mistake not showing the fight between Kuina and Down D Stairs. Early One Piece masterclass chapter
That was a deliberate censorship, as there are a few things that were too dark for even Japanese anime. Having Zeff's foot get cut off accidentally instead of deliberately cutting it off to eat it is another example.
6:00 Using reverse mountain instead of the normal marine route would be such a garp thing to do
no it wont, garp is a man of rules and regulations, thats why he joined the marine in the first place.
for garp rules and regulations are so important that he was ready to sacrifice ace for his duty
Coby said they didn't go through reverse mountain in the post enies lobby arc, which is where we learnt about the fact that marine ships have sea stone under them
I want to highlight a dubbing mistake. In episode 630, Momo has a flashback to a menacing character reaching out while asking "what's your name?" In the Japanese verse, it's a nebulous deep voice, but the English dubbers decided to use the English Doflamingo voice actor. This confused me when I decided to rewatch the series in dub, because I couldn't recall when Momo & Doffy met.
That big mom scene being saved by Prometheus didn’t make sense at all. I don’t know what anime production was thinking
You can always trust the internet to put a weird focus on feet!"
Another strange part of the Warship Island filler arc is that the girl (Apis) was treated as special because she could hear what the elderly dragon was saying. While that was just thanks to a non-canon devil fruit, Luffy was shown listening to the dragon's dying words without her help. Begging the question of whether the anime team knew about the Voice of All Things that far back or if they just gave Luffy the ability to understand animals for some reason.
The 3 zoros isn't a mistake. He's just using the shadow clone jutsu he learned from fellow racist tobirama
Neither of them are racist
Tobirama isn't racist tho😂
He definitely stole it from raizo

The Aqua Laguna salt wasn't implied to be originally FROM the All Blue, it was implied it's another aspect that meets with all other variety of fish from across the world there.
i think i remember a scene of Kyros sometime after the battle in dressrosa making a normal walking animation with his only one leg
A good old round of "why toei makes things worse?" Count me in!
The good question about the stupid filler episodes is why they didn’t adapt the cover pages 😮
Which ones? Koby and 'Mepo training under Garp? Enel on the moon? Germa66 returning to WCI, as well as Kuzan joing the BB pirates?
Barto burning Shanks' flag? Ace looking for Blackbeard. Yup Enel on the Moon.@@matejlaskomulej
I believe the animators fixed this issue in the anime, when Luffy and Coby meet up at Water Seven. As I recall, Coby tells Luffy that the photo was faked, and then tells Luffy how they actually reached the Grand Line. A conversation that is overheard by Nami (who has placed a bug on Luffy).
The thing for me about Nami kicking that filler phony to his death in the ocean, is that although it's filler I'm pretty sure it appears in an episode which is a mix between canon and filler, so even people skipping filler would end up seeing it
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news for Liam here, but the moment with Coby crossing over Reverse Mountain was already explained in the anime during episode 315 about 5 minutes and 40 seconds into the episode. Coby and Luffy are having a discussion and Luffy says "I remember reading about you guys crossing over Reverse Mountain a while back" to which Coby responds "Uh, no.. we didn't pass over that mountain, that was a lie." Which was also explained because the Navy doesn't want the information leaked that they can get through the Calm Belt somewhat safely, if pirates had that information, they'd have a much easier time getting places.
Maybe the marines entering the grand line via reverse mountain was a propaganda photo that was doctored to hide the fact that vegapunk had developed a way to travel the calm belt. Since I think that was supposed to be a secret
You’re one of the best anime reporters. Thank you brother.
Always entertained by your content, it's awesome!
Sengoku helplessly watching Luffy save Ace was ridiculous
What happened in the manga? I watched the anime up until whole cake and then switched to manga.
To be fair I would think garp was just pulling a luffy and punching someone with a sword.
Like grandpa like grandson XD

The subtitles introduce Gold Roger in the early episodes as Gol D. Roger which DEFINITELY shouldnt be there at that point because theres a whole plotline that reveals the marine hid the D in his name
Although, we technically learn his real name for the first time from Dr. Kureha near the end of the Drum Island Arc long before we learn about the marines covering it up.
The reverse mountain thing probably happened, because Garp is Luffy‘s grand dad and that whole Monkey family is insane.
15:34 Funny that you would show Shanks scolding Barto while asking for more examples, because during filler between Dressrosa and Zou there was an episode when Barto presented the cliffnotes versions of the Straw Hats origins, outright showing that he knows about Luffy's connection to Shanks. Problem is, he probably doesn't since in the SH Grand Fleet cover story his reaction to being on a Shanks-protected island was "lol. lmao." and taking over in the name of Luffy. It's an awkward enough situation that Toei chose to skip that part while adapting the cover story during the Reverie arc, probably hoping it wouldn't be relevant again.
But then Shanks said they should probably look into it after his drive-by Haki-ing on Wano. Oops.
The whole Hawkins saying that the man he was predicting was X Drake was quickly debunked when after the battle with Killer he tells Drake that he wasn’t predicting his survival rate, but rather his own. And with the Marines going through Reverse Mountain was cleared up during Post-Ennies Loby, when Coby says to Luffy that they crossed with sea stone on their ships, and the newspapers were faked.
When Don Chinjao split the continent with his drill or when he was fighting garp can't remember wich one, you get a closeup of his face and he only has a mustache instead of his full beard.
The Marines using reverse mountain could be explained by saying Garp does what he wants and thought it was more fun LoL. No longer an oopsie
But then why did Coby say they went through the Calm Belt? Doesn't seem like Coby to share government secrets to an admitted enemy just because he wants to... sound cool, I guess?
There’s a scene after wano after they all get their new bounty posters and when we see sanjis bounty poster it reverts back to his old hand drawn photo
From memory Chopper had two rumble balls in a filler section of the Davy Back fight, then later in W7/EL it was revealed what would happened if he took more than one rumble ball in a short amount of time!
Another mistake is when you referenced a pre time-skip episode in the thumbnail while using post time-skip sanji
Very helpful video Liam nice!
Another really important anime mistake that fundamentally changed how people understand Luffy would be when Zoro cut luffy in an X shape on his chest - in a filler episode..
With the Prometheus one, I think it may be a case of filler of sorts, where its only purpose is to pad out the runtime, even in a small way, especially with how close the anime was getting to the manga
I always interpreted the Aqua Laguna Salt to be an Ingredient of the All Blue not that it came specifically from Aqua Laguna. The Salt of the Ocean is seen as apart of the All Blue and Aqua Laguna is not a Globe Travelling Super Wave, it’s a standard Super Wave that carries the Salt, like any other wave would.
In the anime version of Long Ring Long Island, Chopper takes multiple Rumble Balls in a short time with no ill effects. This did not have to happen at all, as Chopper does not take active part in the Foxy games. The very next time Chopper fights, it is revealed that he can overdose on Rumble Balls. Taking two within a six hour timespan causes his fruit to become unstable and taking a third one while in that state would cause him to lose consciousness, shift to monster point, and go on a destructive rampage.
One could argue Nami kicking the guy overboard was because he was an active threat in that moment. as opposed to throwing someone who is already incapacitated, overboard.
The zoro thing with the dragon seems similar to the time Zoro erased the old lady mermaid from memory so the young one was the first one he met, maybe he thought that the first dragon wasn’t cool enough to be his first.
Why are you trying to re explain something that already has an explanation
kokoro wasn't just "not cool enough" to the strawhats though
she was traumatic to some of them 💀🙏
You've misunderstood the Garp sword moment. Oda told them he had a now lost sword that was fed the human fruit model Fist. Manga was post activation anime was pre, pretty simple really.
Appreciate you still pumping out content through the lull. Your videos are the best way to start my day!
Thanks for helping us through the hiatus
I would love it if we got one more God Valley flashback and it shows Garp being attacked by someone from the Rocks Pirates who has a sword and he quickly picks a sword up off the ground to block the hit before punching with his other hand and tossing the sword away
How cool would it have been if Hordy's anime backstory was revealed to have just been his imagination? Like he is coming up with his own hero origin story. Or maybe he had heard of a similar story about other fishmen children from the Fishman district old timers and he was just projecting.
And as he said "Nothing", that's when we all found out it was never about him.
yeah that steel chain thing bothers me every time i watch it.
ive also wondered about that poneglyph so much and so many times for so long, what does that one in the center of the desert say?
I always thought about the filler arcs as alternate universes, so the steel cutting and dragon thing (I remember asking myself the Same question because of punk hazard dragon) are not that big of a deal
Luffy, Shanks, Blackbeard and Buggy are more like possible candidates for Yonchibukai. They have more in common with Warlords than Emperors.
Keep up the great work and videos Liam love the video
I mean to remember that Luffy, Zoro or Usopp made a remark regarding Ryu when seeing Dragon Number 13 in the anime.
also on Netflix currently jungle p has been playing since thriller bark and still in impel down maybe to marine Ford. I am still at impell down and crunchyroll has the same problem on subbed.
Inside Dressrosa there was a scene where you could see Kyros with 2 legs, but the scene after that he only has 1 so it wasn’t repaired by Leo
I love how the german translation of the anime AND manga renamed Raftel to Unicon until they retconned it once the island's true name got revealed.
And not a mistake per se, but in the one filler arc which is canon in our hearts, G8, our boy Condoriano namedrops our favourite molten rock based admiral by calling Jonathan Akainu's lapdog. Of all the admirals at that point in the story, Akainu seems to be an odd choice for the one with a fondness for especially peaceful marine bases.
In Spain we use the expression “Me cago en la leche”, this literally translates to “I shit in the milk”. It’s used to show exasperation, like when you are playing a video game and you keep losing on the same spot.
I feel like this video is going to get linked so many times whenever an anime fan makes One Piece theory 😂
Good job though for compiling this list 🔥
No chapters for 3 weeks and Liam turns into Buzzfeed.
Zoro got so lost he found himself 13:19
For some reason I could totally see Garp using the Reverse Mountain to introduce Grand Line to his new pupils. He's THAT of a troll after all. 😆
I am kinda grateful with some of the filler content we got with the anime and i have a theory that the anime influence the manga in some way. The Warship island arc (the one with the old dragon) happenned way before the crew ever met Robin, but it would have been amazing if she would have been there at the time. My theory is that the idea of Robin the archeologist came from that arc because Robin wasn't planned to be a member of the crew. I like to think that the anime predicted the idea or gave the idea to Oda to add an archeologist to the crew.
Also, can the anime produce more filler from the cover stories like in the early days instead of stretching the story every week? We get intro (at least 1:30), recap (at least 2:30), part of the last episode repeats (at least 2:30 as well), about 7:30 to 10:00 of new content with some flashbacks sprinkled in (goes from light to heavy) and the episode's outro (1:00 to 1:30) plus a 0:30 preview. So we get maybe 5 to 7.5 minutes of new content per episode. No wonder One Pace was made by fans. If a lot of that was skipped for regular episodes of at least 12 to 15 minutes and get cover story filler instead when the network need time to stall for the manga, that would be a lot better. Maybe a few mistake will crop up, but it would be so much better than the stretching formula we got right now.
Recently, thanks for the live action one piece show, my wife has started watching the anime. So I have been rewatching it with her. It’s been cool to watch her experience key moments in the series and hear her theories. I use a list I found online that has all the filler, non filler and partial filler eps listed. We basically just skip filler. It’s great. We are gonna watch G8 tho. Almost there.
The punk hazard dragon is how I learned what filler is lol
when Kinemon jump into the water befor entering Onigashima he isn’t held by his comrades, he is just floating by himself…
The anime introduced Whitebeard before he had his first color spread in the manga. They decided to make the inside of his coat red, while Oda later showed it as green in a color spread.
In this case, the manga changed the color going forward to match the anime’s red.
You mention Vice Admiral Jonathan but NOT the fact the anime stated he was Akainu’s protege long before Akainu was introduced as a homicidal maniac willing to destroy entire villages to kill ONE criminal?! IE: the exact OPPOSITE of Jonathan!
Sanji getting thrown by s-shark instead of blocking his fist with his head will always piss me off.
I think my favourite anime mistake is probably tan Robin, because they could have done the smart thing and just left that mistake in the anime, but instead decided it was better to arbitrarily "fix" it, even though doing so changed nothing about the story itself, subsequently drawing overt attention to it for literally every anime-only watcher.
In the spanish dub (which is a new dub produced for the netflix release) from episode ONE the intro calls roger Rey de los Piratas Gol D. Roger
TIMES THE ANIME SERIOUSLY MESSED UP:
this chess move is illegal :((
I actually watched one pace and I remember that moment in the one pace subtitle and dubbed Garp sais that usually they are travelling via other methods in the grand line but for them to get the full experience he’ll take them from the reverse mountain
It all makes sense now. I was very confused when prometheus dove into the water
The one I always catch is at the End of Dressrosa, were the Strahats are at Kyros's House, Kyros walks away from the house with two legs.
The anime gave Zoro conquers haki early like when he first entered the raid when in beast pirate disguise they had him use it on a bunch of drunk guys
Kinemon was swimming in the anime because they forgot to draw the person carrying him which is pretty funny
Now that OP is on break, you have to make content until you need eye surgery 😂
Garp being a stubborn old head would definitely still take reverse mountain 😂
by far the most mistake that the anime did is in the beginning of Onigashima battle where Zoro was in front of couple of drunk soldiers, they not only revealed that Zoro did have Conqueror's Haki before it's reveal later against Kaido in much better and greater scene, but also revealed that he is proficient in using it by only forcing a few drunk angry soldiers who attacked him out of thousands of soldiers around him to lose conscious and pass out. Which in the manga we are still yet to see Zoro being able to control his Conqueror's Haki in such a similar way.
The image of Prometheus evaporating before he got to Big Mom made me burst out laughing LOL
Biggest Mistake you can do: Hurt someone that gave Food to Ruffy.
Somehow, Brody saying that reached back and erased my entire memory of that flashback. It was THAT powerful a moment. In fact, in talking to friends, I don't think any of them have ever brought up that flashback. It all just slipped our collective fan-mind.
In reverse mountain arc they call Laugh Tale "Laugh Tale", like years before the reveal
Jonathan is playing such high-level chess that he controls every aspect of the board
Technically if fire is hot enough it can go under the water
6:14 In the Anime's defense. Garp is literally the exact person to go down the Red-Line because he felt like it.
8:25 “Nothing I say matters”. Liam, you’re the goat.
