Man I'm so excited to be able to show you guys some of these fights. This is just the first one. In the coming days, I'll upload a few more matches for you boys. I've fought Romero a ton in UFC 5 already and it's always an uphill battle. The man is great and he is even better in UFC 5. I hope you guys enjoy this one. Grappling looks a lot better than i expected to be. Striking looks more beautiful when you have two individuals who know how to play. My biggest gripe with the game right now is the ground and pound animations. I feel like the postured up hooks and straights can be massively improved upon.
@@stiffboywhoyou12 I agree 100%. There’s an interview I did with a Dev that will be going up soon. I confront them on a lot of this stuff, including the ground and pound animations so stay tuned for that.
Love the damage system - seeing the cuts actually occur based on the strike is sweet. Striking looks more fluid which is great. Seamless subs look awesome even if the core ground game is not much different, but some really nice animations there. Looking forward to more!
I think my main complaint is simply that I'd like to see more personalization for the fighters. Give them more signature animations and such - like the iconic Pereira left hook. He whips his hook in a very specific way.
Just look at ANY fighting game. Mortal Kombat for example, each game complete overhaul. Looks stunning, brand new animations, moves, modes. This is just the bare minimum. 🤦♂️
What I find so stupid in particular is the way hooks are thrown. Most people throw them with their index finger up, pink down kinda like grabbing a glass. But here they turn their fist which is ok but most ppl dont do that. Gaethje for example throws kind of long hooks and telegraphs them for power, pereira kind of drops his hand and winds it up, izzy likes to lean back and throw them quite short. Just those tiny things make for such a better experience imo.

This is inexcusable for the amount of time it took this game to release I can’t even lie. I’m usually extremely optimistic when it comes to games but this is disappointing. Only thing I can genuinely say I’m looking forward to is what new fighters they’ve added.
I mean damn dawg 3 whole years even Cod games look way different after 3 years. The hell they wait so long for i this was all that was waiting for us. Shit crazy as hell and slowly but surely theyre lowering our standards for wtf a game should be. Fans gaslighting us into thinking this shit make sense

I'm incredibly disappointed that we couldn't get a grappling system like UFC Undisputed 3. The clinch and ground game are virtually the same as UFC 4 when you exclude the new addition of scrambling.
I didn’t play any UFC 3 because I wasn’t into UFC or MMA at the time, but I really wonder who thought getting rid of fighting the clinch was a good idea. It looks so good, so I will never understand why they got rid of it and decided to make it unblockable in 4 and 5 too.
It certainly looks improved but I think ima wait for this one to go on sale I don’t see too much to get hyped about ima sticking to 4 till that price drops
For all the talk about "reinventing the ground game" in UFC 5, grappling still looks identical to UFC 4, I rarely have high hopes for EA games but I didnt expect a carbon copy with new walkouts 😂
At no point was the ground game marketed as reinvented. Ground and pound animations were changed and a new seamless submission system was added. Some aspects of the ground game has changed too, like short term and long term stamina, how certain reversals works and the interplay between ground and pound and sweeps, but the core ground game was never marketed as a reinvention. It is mostly the-same as UFC 4 and trust me, I fucking hate that too. But this narrative that people were misled is just false.

How seamless transition will actually feel when playing yourself, I don’t know yet buttt as a visual it’s a game changer! I’m super pumped for your showcases and watching you take fights to ground with grapplers. The new mechanic makes it so much more pleasing to watch as a spectator
Im actually seeing a few different strike animations. The hooks, uppercuts, front kicks to the body and head, head kicks and elbows. Looking forward to trying it myself
Same. None of us like it, including the Devs. The issue is that removing it is not as simple as it seemed. They are working on it I promise you. Getting a peak behind the curtains with this series has opened my eye to how a lot of shit that seems simple has so many moving parts.
@@MartialMindit's not easy but the guys that worked on undisputed 3 and the ea guys tha worked on fight night champion implemented new features seamlessly and seemingly easily. They know how to do there job where as the people currently workkng under ea sports do not. Nor are they fans

Have you noticed how the submissions stats for the fighters might be affecting submission attempts? I mean if a character has say an 75 rating for submission offense but the opponent has a 90 submission defense then is it much more difficult to submit them or have you not really seen a difference?
To be fair how are they really gonna make a big change to striking? They added cuts and doctors stoppages, they changed it. I mean really they can’t change it too much other than add more signature moves for fighters but overall how did you expect them to change it drastically?
@@SpleenGripper9000 the footwork is so silly and like they’re sliding on ice still. The striking could’ve been better like everyone having their own unique style as in real life. Doctor stoppage is stupid because I get it in real life how it can affect a fighter but how does it affect the player? I hope there is no way it can be exploited when your beating ppl then they do a little damage where it causes the doctor to end the fight when you were dominating the whole fight. The knee to belly on the ground seems so OP

Where is the fighters individual uniqueness like some of the top fighters should have their own idle stance for example Sean Strickland. They did such minor tweaks. I figured you Marshall of all people would be more critical… I get it you’re a game changer so you can’t speak too much but man Pryoxis made a very valid point about this new game that I figured the game changers would address, but I haven’t seen you guys critique it in the way that he has but I guess do ya thing
Hello Martial, I just wanted to ask you if the AI fighters are still impossible to takedown. I had this problem in the ufc that out of every single takedown I tried to get, I only got like one. I hope this is fixed.

I really wish they would change the fact that ducking and weaving cost so much stamina. I get people used to spam it ufc2 days but I loved the head movement in that game and was really disappointed with 3 and 4

Love that you touched on rythem. My friends wonder why I can constantly come back no matter how good they’re doing so I’ve been trying to explain that if you delay the timing on your strike it’s just as good as feinting a strike. If the whole fight your used to me fluidly throwing the combo you’ll start looking for signs of it to counter. It’s so easy to just delay that half a second and catch people coming in for the counter. It’s also why I encourage people to watch Muay Thai padwork cause you’ll be surprised what combos and techniques really work in game

i was div 20 multiple times in ufc 4 i hope ufc 5 i can do the same, my stand up is really good but the seamless submission mechanics was confusing me a bit during the beta
For the people hating on the game, you just need to get your hands on the game. It feels so much different verses UFC 4. Once you play this, you can’t go back to 4

Yeah, the thing they really need to add is more fighter specific animations... Not necessarily one for each and every fighter but 4-8 variants of a majority of animations. Those 4-8 variants of each animation can cover the range of how different people throw their high & low kicks, jab, crosses, hooks, walking, leaning, blocking strikes. We don't have a philly shell in the game when there should be 2 or 3 styles of the philly shell in game (strickland, poirier, bobby green). With the majority of styles accounted for, there would be much more fitting animations (or at least alot closer to reality) for every fighter.
They are so excited about the blood drops. I guarantee if you are playing career mode in a main event, the canvas will be clean af. As if nobody fought before you. They dont care about details, the fact they hyped up hair, blood and sweat is pathetic. Those things should just be in the game as something you appreciate without them rubbing it in your face.
Honestly I feel like all ufc 5 needs is better or revamped wrestling and grappling (clinch too) and unique moves. I love the new sub system, atmosphere and graphics are great. Hopefully they make that extra effort to bring it all home.
The grappling looks way more fluid and intense and honestly complicated with the submissions, but I’m excited to learn and get to work. This is way better than what I expected. Looks really good, this feels like an actual ufc fight, for some reason 4 the rounds don’t feel as long (even on real time clock) but this feels legit.
To be completely honest, I think we all wanted more of a newly revamped grappling system… that being said the elements they are adding are really exciting ones that change the flow of the game, and the focus of the grappling which hopefully won’t be parking on transitional denies, due to the threat of submissions. I also think that if they move with the same energy they did in UFC 4 the game will get better the longer it’s lifecycle
i was excited to finally see some high level players playing this game and the whole time i just felt like i was watching ufc 4 gameplay with like a color filter on or something

Submissions and grappling looks very very good. But I expected some original striking animations for each fighter, for the best top 15 at least.

Not to mention knockout animations are hot ass just like they have been for the past 3 game now...
itd be cool if the prefight info that shows up at like 2:28 showed online stats like a real fight lol like if i play 3 fights and won 2, it would be funny if the fourth fight stats said won 2 of last 3 or if you have a 5 fight ko streak or something

I really wish they would change the fact that ducking and weaving cost so much stamina. I get people used to spam it ufc2 days but I loved the head movement in that game and was really disappointed with 3 and 4

My friends wonder why I can constantly come back no matter how good they’re doing so I’ve been trying to explain that if you delay the timing on your strike it’s just as good as feinting a strike. If the whole fight your used to me fluidly throwing the combo you’ll start looking for signs of it to counter. It’s so easy to just delay that half a second and catch people coming in for the counter. It’s also why I encourage people to watch Muay Thai padwork cause you’ll be surprised what combos and techniques really work in game

Yeah, the thing they really need to add is more fighter specific animations... Not necessarily one for each and every fighter but 4-8 variants of a majority of animations. Those 4-8 variants of each animation can cover the range of how different people throw their high & low kicks, jab, crosses, hooks, walking, leaning, blocking strikes. We don't have a philly shell in the game when there should be 2 or 3 styles of the philly shell in game (strickland, poirier, bobby green). With the majority of styles accounted for, there would be much more fitting animations (or at least alot closer to reality) for every fighter.
It’s crazy that they put this out as a full priced game instead of an update.

Honestly I feel like all ufc 5 needs is better or revamped wrestling and grappling (clinch too) and unique moves. I love the new sub system, atmosphere and graphics are great. Hopefully they make that extra effort to bring it all home.

The grappling looks way more fluid and intense and honestly complicated with the submissions, but I’m excited to learn and get to work. This is way better than what I expected. Looks really good, this feels like an actual ufc fight, for some reason 4 the rounds don’t feel as long (even on real time clock) but this feels legit.

To be completely honest, I think we all wanted more of a newly revamped grappling system… that being said the elements they are adding are really exciting ones that change the flow of the game, and the focus of the grappling which hopefully won’t be parking on transitional denies, due to the threat of submissions. I also think that if they move with the same energy they did in UFC 4 the game will get better the longer it’s lifecycle
I like love this gameplay, very competitive and using all tools on the ground and on the feet like an actual fight, not a kickboxing match
